My first day of school was the worst day of my life. Carnell got me in trouble. I was playing with a girl named Gloria at recess when he came over by us and kissed me. I swung on him, making him fall and hit his head on a rock. Causing him to bleed, which got me sent to principals office. I had never been in trouble at school so I started freaking out and crying.

Carnell P.O.V
It was Tyra's first day of school and she was placed in my class. When she had walked in, she saw me and waved. Tyra was easily the prettiest girl in the whole school. So, her waving at me made all of the guys in the class jealous. At lunch we were sitting at out table and the guys were hating. Especially when I told them Tyra had kissed me.

"You lyin" Jakobe said.
"I swear "I told him " she kissed me when I was outside of her house."
"You full of it, she don't like you" My friend Quan said.
"On my brother's grave, she kissed me."
"Well go kiss her right now then." Quan suggested
"Yea," Jakobe agreed
"Ughh, ok" I told them getting up and walking outside.
Tyra was by the monkey bars playing with another pretty girl in our class named Gloria.

"Don't freak out" I whispered in Tyra's ear from behind. I stood in front of her and kissed her. Next thing I know I was on the ground. Forehead bleeding, and mouth hurting.

We got sent to the principals in office. I was cool, I been to the principal's office a lot. Tyra on the other hand was crying her eyes out.

"What's wrong with you? You hit me!" I asked her.
"Imma get in trouble, and it's your fault. I hate you. My mom is going to be so mad." She started crying harder.
"You act like you never been in trouble before."
"I haven't " she put her knees to her chest and hugged them.
I started feeling bad so, I went into the principals office.

"Carnell, go back outside." Principal Green told me.

"No, not until you promise Tyra won't get in trouble."

"You don't run this school, I do."

"Allen, it was my fault."

"Carnell we both know you been in my office more than any other student but we are not friends, it's Mr. Green."

" Look it wasn't her fault. Please just let her go."

"I know she's new, but she hit a student. I must call her parents."

"She didn't hit me," I lied. Every bruise on me was because of her.

"Carnell, you have a gash on your forehead and a busted lip."he pointed out the obvious.

"I busted my lip over the weekend. I also blacked my eye. Mr.Green, boys are rough."

"How do explain the gash on your forehead?"

" I tripped "

"Students saw her hit you."

"Students lie, we like to gossip."

"Why are you covering for her Carnell? Did she threaten you?"he whispered.

"I'm not covering for her. I tripped, that's it Mr.Green. Tyra is the nicest girl I know."

"If you say so Carnell, go get Ms. Simpkins." I ran out the room to go get Tyra .

"Mr.Green wants you," I told her. "Tell him you never hit me I just tripped and hit my head on the rock." Tyra looked up at me confused. "Go,"

She walked into the room while I stayed outside the office and sat on the bench. She came back out and walked by me, without saying anything. I walked back into Mr.Green's office and he told me to go back to class. When I stepped into the hallway Tyra was standing against the wall.

"Thank you"

"For what?" I asked playing dumb.

"Getting me out of trouble, I'm sorry for saying I hate you."

"It's okay. I will always have your back."

"Promise,"

"Yea, I will always be there."

"Thanks, I will have a you back as long as you have mine."

That's how Tyra and I became friends. I got her out of trouble, we both kept our promises and had each other's back through everything.
