'Hi Mr Jeon Jungkook, I'm a representative from AOMG, calling on behalf of Miss Lee Hi. We have emailed you last week and would like to check if there are any updates? Just to recap again, we are working on Miss Lee Hi's upcoming album and we'd be honored if you can share a few materials that you feel best to suit her. Should you have any enquiries or would like to clarify on the matter, do give us a call. Miss Lee Hi has been a fan of your work and we'd be honored if we can have you on board with us. We look forward to hear from you.'
Jungkook stares at the screen - reading and re-reading the message again, contemplating whether he should reply or not. Like Ji-Eun, Lee Hi is one of the best female soloist in Korea. Their genres however, are different from one another.
Ji-Eun carries a mix of ballads and pop, while Lee Hi focuses on only ballads. Her songs sounds soulful and the lyrics are always deeply meaningful. As much as Jungkook would kill to be on the project, it is something he's unable to do quite right nowadays.
His mind has been pacing all over the place and he always finds himself at loss in his writings. His notes are messy and he's running out of ideas. Gone were the days when beautiful phrases are at the tip of his fingers. Even the keys on the piano hate him now – they've been sounding weird since she left.
...
"Did you run here?" Jungkook can't help his amused stare at the huffing girl. She caught her breath, all the while forcing a smile.
"You said it's important," Lisa took a big gulp of air before sitting by his side. "I'm not sure if it's good-important or a bad one so –"
"Aww did I worry you? I'm sorry baby," He pats on her hair a couple of times. They always feel soft under his touch.
"No, no! It's fine," She laughs. "So, what is it?"
Jungkook took a deep breath and squared his shoulder. "I finally finished it...my first song. I already shared it with the agency,"
"You did?! Oh my God, I'm so proud of you!" Her eyes lit up immediately and a wide smile curved on her lips, squishing her cheeks up and looking like the cutest doll he'd ever seen.
He nods down shyly but somehow regained a hell amount of confidence. "Then kiss me already!"
She pouts cutely but leans in anyways, aiming for his cheeks. Jungkook's having none of it of course, so he caught those lips with his instead. Bliss! This is my heaven on earth!
He could sense her smiling in their kiss as he longed for more.
"I told you...I knew you could do it," She whispered as their lips parted, leaning her forehead on his. Her voice is as soft as always, melting his heart even more.
"Thank you...I couldn't have done it without you,"
She shook her head slightly and rested a palm on his cheek. "It's all you. You're so talented and amazing –"
"But you believed in me," She smiles her shy smile. "Do you wanna hear it? It's about you,"
"Me?" She leaned back in shock, her eyes got even bigger and her face looked even cuter – aishh this girl!! "Then it can't be that good – you should rethink –"
"Yahh what are you talking about? It's about you, so it's the best!!"
She laughs her melodic laugh – one that Jungkook has been addicted to for so long. None of them knew how right he was. They couldn't have foreseen the masterpiece that started his career, and would eventually derail him away from her.
