Ryan's POV:

I lead Brendon out to his car, grabbing his keys as I go. Once I have him in the car, I start it up and start to drive. I'm taking him to a place that'll make him feel better. "It's gonna be a long drive, Brenny," I warn him. He nods and rests his head on the door, eyes heavy. He will probably fall asleep, and that's okay.

I sing him to sleep quietly as I drive. I sing the song I'd always sing to him when he's sad. "If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed, then we should feed our jewelry to the sea. For diamonds do appear to be, just like broken glass to me. And then she said she can't believe, genius only comes along in storms of fabled foreign tongues. Tripping eyes, and flooded lungs, northern downpour sends it's love," I sing quietly.

I finally reach our destination and I kiss Brendon softly to wake him up. I feel so bad. He thinks the whole thing was his fault. Brendon's big brown eyes flutter open and he looks at me. "Hey there, sleepy," I say. "I have something to show you now," I add. Brendon's tired head nods and we both get out. He looks around, it now being dark out. I get the lantern Brendon always keeps in his car and turn it on. His beautiful eyes squint at the sudden light. When his eyes finally adjust, he looks around. Trees. Trees all around us, and gravel under our tired feet. I interlace our fingers and pull him down a trail I haven't been down in years. Branches crunch as we walk. We reach the place I was looking for. A bridge over a river. I take him to the middle of it, resting the lantern and my elbows on the bridge's rail.

I look over the rail at the water, sparkling under the moonlight. The white foam in the water appearing as it crashes into smooth, polished rocks. Trees on either side of the river, trunks covered with moss. The sound of whistling wind, getting combed through the trees and straight to my ears. It's a somewhat sobering and beautiful correlation of sounds.

"Ryan.. is this the place we used to come all the time for song inspiration?" I hear him ask. I turn my gaze to meet his and nod. "Yeah. It is," I reply. Brendon smiles. That smile I missed and love so much. The genuinely happy smile I haven't seen it years. It warms my heart. "It's beautiful, Ryan," He whispers, eyes fixed on the water below. "I have something to ask you, Brendon," I hear myself say. Brendon meets with my eyes again. "What is it?"

I sigh and blush, looking down at my feet. This is the moment my life has been leading up to. All this time I've spent, researching insignificant things, just to get my mind off of my problems. All those times I spent, locked up in my room, reading, THIS I the big moment in my life. The moment that'll change everything.

I finally build up the courage to speak. "I know we don't have much life to live.. but I want to spend it with you. No matter how long I live from this point on, my love for you is sempiternal. Je te adorer, Brendon Urie. Je ne peux imaginer ma vie sans toi, Veux-tu m'épouser?" I ask. I know he knows enough French to know what that means. My knees feel weak. His eyes stay locked on mine. I can see him tearing up. He finally smiles and hugs me. The next word that he says is the most simple and yet so satisfying word for me to hear. He hugs me tighter and whispers,

"Yes"
