14. blame

Two weeks later

Felix entered the school. The courtyard was unusually full. People stared at him when he walked past them.

'They probably think I'm a psychopath.' He thought.

"Felix!" Someone called his name.

He turned around, it was Seungmin.

"I'm so sorry I didn't visit you last two weeks. After my parents heard what happened, they didn't want me to meet up with you. Are you okay? Is everything fine?"

Felix couldn't believe his ears.

'Aw, Seung is worried... about me?'

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's okay. I mean, I wasn't the one who got beaten up." He gave him a sad smile.

"Oh come on. Why is everyone making such a fuss about it. I talked with Minho and he said Jisung is now doing almost fine." Seungmin shrugged.

"..."

"Okay but since when did Seung become so ruthless?"

Hyunjin snorted. "This is the Seungmin I know, he was always a like this. Kind and caring but once he made up his mind, he could kill someone without batting an eye."

"Uhm, oh." Felix didn't know how to respond to that. He didn't expect Hyunjin to talk so suddenly. But this was Seungmin they were talking about so of course Hyunjin would have a say in that matter.

"I got often beaten up by my brothers and nobody cared. Wounds heal and people forgive. Now stop weeping, lessons start soon."

That lifted up Felix's mood. He was so grateful to have Seungmin as a friend. He always looked at problems from both sides and kept things real.

"Wounds heal and people forgive... but scars stay and people remember." Added Hyunjin silently.

They parted on the hallway and Felix entered the classroom.

Jisung was standing next to his desk and a few people surrounded him.

When Felix walked inside, they all turned around and looked at him.

Felix came up to them. Everyone stayed quiet. They waited for him to do something and prepared to act quickly.

"...I'm sorry." Was the only thing Felix said.

"..."

"..."

After while Jisung gave him a small smile and replied. "It's okay. I forgive you. Maybe... I was really a bit mean to you."

Felix furrowed his brows. '...What?'

And he wasn't the only one, the rest had also confused looks on their faces.

'Since when would Jisung willingly admit his fault?'

Suddenly Jisung started coughing. "Now if you'll excuse me."

He left the classroom.

The rest gave Felix a blaming look, some even a resentful one.

In the end it was still his fault that Jisung ended up like this.

The bell rang and everyone went to their places.

Felix noticed that both Changbin and Minho looked around the class for Jisung as the first thing when they entered.

"..."

After the lesson Felix rushed out of the classroom. He didn't want to stay there any longer.

As he was running down the stairs he tripped again.

However, this time it was his own fault.

He cursed as he prepared himself for the heavy landing.

However it never came. Someone quickly caught him from behind.

Felix looked up.

Changbin wore his usually indifferent expression but his hand held Felix's shoulder tightly.

"..."

"Be more careful, will you? We don't need any more accidents." He raised his eyebrows.

He steadied Felix and walked past him down the stairs.

Felix looked after him with his eyes wide open.

"Oh my godness, he just saved me from falling."

"Yeah, he did you idiot. Now move, we're blocking the way."

"But- you saw it right?"

"Yes, I'm not blind." Replied Hyunjin annoyed.

"That means he doesn't hate me as much as I thought." Felix's whole face lit up.

Hyunjin facepalmed. "What YOU think is not important. But it's true that he caught you. He might actually be a good person."

"Of course he is a good person!"

"If it were me and the person who had beaten up my crush fell, I would step and spit on him while he's on the ground."

"..."

"What."

"...Well, fortunately Changbin is not you haha."
