Clarissa

Today was a day off from school. Some kids went to Hogsmeade, some stayed in their dorms and studied. I used my time to prepare. Tonight, there was a party hosted by the Gryffindors in their Tower. It was 3:00pm, and the party was at 8:00pm, right after dinner at 7:00pm. Since I only had a few hours, I decided to use it to my advantage. I was known as the introverted loser, and I wanted to change that this year. So, I got my wand, my makeup bag, and my robes, and went into the girls bathroom and locked the door.

First off, I needed to shower, because I stunk. I rushed my shower, because most of the upperclassmen at Hogwarts were capable of using Alohomora. And that was the last thing I needed, to be walked in on. After my shower, I chucked on my robes and spritzed my perfume, which smelled of the Fleur-de-Lis, a flower native to France, reminding me of my home back in Southern France. Under my robes, I wore a simple but revealing black shirt, as I had unbuttoned the first few buttons, accompanied by a green mini skirt, which I had rolled up. Next, my hair. My hair was very lovely when it was curly, but the frizz took away from it. It reminded me of Hermione's first and second year hair, it was really embarrassing. I used my wand to charm my hair so it was sleek and straight, making me realize how long my hair was, because of the shrinkage.

Lastly, I had to do my makeup. I wanted it to be like a natural glow. I put on concealer, bronzer, blush, highlighter, mascara, eyeliner, and pink lip gloss. I looked SO beautiful, and I looked like a completely different person. I wondered what Draco would think. Wait a damn minute. Draco? Why Draco? I hate him, what am I even thinking. That came as a surprise to me. As I had expected, time flew by. It was already 7:00pm, so I had to go to dinner, and I would change into my party clothes later.

That evening at dinner, I walked in like a princess, the Slytherin Princess. Everybody stared as I took my seat with Millicent and Daphne, my two new friends. My "glow-up" seemed to have worked, as I caught the boys from the other end of the table staring at me, including Draco. I blushed unknowingly, and I heard all of Draco's friends snigger at him from the other end of the hall. What surprised me the most was that I caught the eyes of a boy in the year above me from Gryffindor, Cormac McLaggen. He looked at me from the table across and smiled at me, I smiled back. I heard a loud bang from the end of the Slytherin table, only to see that Draco had hit his fist next to his dinner plate out of frustration. Was I making him jealous? All of a sudden, I noticed that Cormac mouthed to me, "will you go to the party with me?" Surprised, but excited, I nodded, and probably blushed too.

I walked alongside Millicent and Daphne to the Gryffindor party, excited for what was to come. I wore a snakeskin mini dress and black flats, trying to keep it somewhat casual. My new, sleek hair fell down my back and stopped near my hips. I'd been told that even though my hair was brown, there were lots of golden highlights, though I didn't really notice. Daphne wore a mini skirt and a tube top, and Millicent wore a cute green flowy dress, both girls wore heels. "Wait, guys, hold on", I said, quickly realizing something. "We don't know the Gryffindor password".

"I'm sure it'll be fine, theres probably someone letting everyone in", Daphne reassured.

"Oh, yeah", I said, giggling.

We approached the portrait of the Fat Lady on the seventh floor, after a grueling walk from the dungeons. Just as we had suspected, a Gryffindor boy was standing near it, probably letting everyone in. He gave us the password, Mimbulis Mimbletonia. Weird. As soon as we stepped in, the silence of the hall morphed into loud club music (not that I'd ever been to one), and the bumble of people chatting and playing around. The red ambiance of the room matched the decorations, with gold and red balloons everywhere, and all of the furniture was a deep shade of red as well. Gold confetti was falling from the ceiling, however it vanished before it touched the ground, I assumed the ceiling had been bewitched.

To my left, there was a large group of people dancing to the club music, and to my right were the refreshments, so I decided to go over there. Many drinks I was unfamiliar with lay on the table, however I noticed one tall bottle labeled Daisyroot Draught, and a small bottle labeled Hog's Head Brew, both of which I recognized from the Hog's Head pub. I figured some kids snuck off to Hogsmeade to smuggle in alcohol. I took a glass, poured myself some of the Daisyroot Draught, and walked over to the large crowd of people. I took a sip of the Draught and gagged, however I wanted to look tough and mature, so I continued to force the Draught down my throat.

By then, I was stumbling around dancing with everyone else, in a bit of a blur. I was so wasted that I completely forgot about Cormac, who I watched saunter over to me, completely sober.

"Hey, erm, Clarissa, are you alright?", he sweetly asked.

"Hm? Oh, haha, yeah", I slurred. I took his hand and made him twirl me around like we were at the Yule Ball, however he didn't seem amused, rather concerned.

"Here, love, come with me", he said, and put my arm over his shoulder, attempting to calm me down. He sat me down on one of the Common Room couches, and asked, "Erm, Clarissa, how much have you had to drink?".

"Well", I paused as I thought, "Three Fire Whiskeys, two glasses of Daisyroot Draught, and only one bottle of Hog's Head Brew". He stared at me, eyes wide open. He took the bottle of Beetle Berry Whiskey that I was about to start drinking from my hand, which annoyed me, but I didn't do anything to stop him.

"You know, Clarissa, your accent is very pretty", he said, turning to face me. I could tell he was forcing some small talk, but I went along with it anyways, despite my drunkenness.

I don't remember anything else that night, I only know what people have told me. According to Daphne and Millicent, Draco angrily walked over to Cormac and I, and pushed Cormac out of the way. "What the hell do you think you're doing, McLaggen?", he angrily spat. "Now, if you don't mind, I'll be taking Cardaillet back to the dungeons".

"Nice try, Malfoy, but no. Bloody hell, only Merlin knows what you'll do to that poor girl.", he stood up. I got up with him to try and be the peacemaker, but they had already drawn their wands.

"Please, guys, stop, people are starting to look", I whined, looking up at both boys. I obviously wasn't playing my enemy card, because I was too drunk to think straight.

"Let them", Malfoy spat at me, glaring at the both of us. Crabbe and Goyle backed up behind Malfoy, to try and help, but he just shoved them out of the way. McLaggen did the same with his friends. Just as they were about to duel, someone very unexpected broke them up. Snape. He walked right between the two of them, and scolded them for even thinking about using magic on another student, by hitting them both on the head with a book.

From what I heard, I was passed out on the couch, so after Snape crashed the party, he muttered, "Malfoy, take Cardaillet back to her dorm, and McLaggen, ten points from Gryffindor."

"But sir, I was just-" Cormac tried to justify, but Snape cut him off and shooed everyone back to bed.

I was still conscious on our way back to the Slytherin dungeons, however Draco still carried me. Though he had treated me like rubbish this school year, I guess I had found his soft spot, me. To break the silence, still-drunk me decided I had something to say.

I twirled his tie between my fingers and whispered cheekily, "Psst, Draco, my man. Between you and me, you're the hottest guy at this school." Obviously, I would NEVER had said that, however I was on the verge of passing out again and I guess I just wanted to spit it out. God I hope Draco and I are even on speaking terms.

Draco carried me into my dorm and tucked me into my bed after taking off my shoes and leaving me a cup of water for my upcoming hangover. I guess he thought I was pretty knocked out, because he whispered in my ear, "Night, Clarissa. See you tomorrow."
