stevie and i walked into class, our arms linked together. after charlie had interrogated me, i promptly brushed him off and went to find my best friend.

i looked around to see who also happened to be in this class, and i was glad to see a lot of ducks.

"oh, great," stevie muttered, glancing around at my friends,"your little duckies are here too."

i rolled my eyes,"you know most of them stevie, we've all been going to the same school for years."

we took our seats in front of guy and russ, while stevie continued to gripe,"yeah, but they didn't take you away from us back then."

"you're dramatic, you know that right?" i told her, before turning to guy,"hey, guy."

he smiled, winking and clicking his tongue, "hey, bubba."

russ and stevie both started obnoxiously gagging, and leaning over their seats to fake their vomiting.

i chuckled and turned back around, just in time to hear the detrimental words of our decrepit teacher,"every monday you'll have a practice quiz, every wednesday you'll have a real quiz, every friday you'll have an exam. and anytime i feel like it you'll have a surprise quiz or exam."

i raised my eyebrows, letting out a nervous laugh, and hoping she was kidding.

but something told me she hadn't quite learned the definition of that word.

stevie and i shared a look, both of us silently praying that we could get through this year together.

i felt guy lean forward, whispering to me,"let's start a plagiarism circle."

i chuckled, nodding in agreement,"a cheating communion, if you will."

he laughed and leaned back to his seat, as our teacher passed out the syllabus.

i pulled a pencil out of my bag, getting ready to do whatever it is she wanted us to do. while i would be the first one to admit that this class was extremely abrasive, it was important to me that i kept up my 'a' average throughout high school.

stevie turned to me, letting out a breath,"well, today's monday. what do you think we'll be practice quizzed on?"

i glanced at the chalk board, eyeing it for a moment to see if there was any information it could give me, in regards to stevie's question.

when i saw nothing, i just turned back to her, shrugging simply,"i don't know, our ability to take a quiz or exam?"

she laughed, shaking her head,"this place is gonna eat us alive."

i nodded in agreement,"that's the truth."

i took a seat next to adam in history, a undeniably throbbing headache distracting me from whatever was happening.

"you alright there, pendland?" adam looked down at me, smiling lightly.

i let out a huff, running a hand through my hair,"i'm dying."

he chuckled at my hyperbolic speech,"what's wrong?"

"the classes are hard," i started, looking strangely at our teacher who was bringing a dwarf doll out of his desk,"the teachers are... weird, and the guys are annoying."

he raised his eyebrows,"all the guys?"

i chuckled, knowing he was talking about himself,"yes, every single one, even guy."
