Rory groaned as she regained consciousness. She tried to pull herself up but slipped on the bloody floor. The crimson liquid stuck to every surface and to every part of her body. She faintly heard the cries and knocks of someone in the back.

She could still feel the effects of the vampire bite as she carefully pulled herself up to her hands and knees. Pulling her stele out of her pocket, she traced her iratze. A slight wave of relief flowed through her body.

She grimaced and stood up. She took a glance at all of the dead wolves before stumbling into the kitchen.

"Maia?" she called hoarsely.

A banging sound erupted nearby and she jumped. She heard her name being called again and she tiredly found the door where Maia's voice emerged from.

"We're stuck in here!" she shouted through the metal.

Rory grunted as she pulled at the barricade. It wouldn't budge even as she shook and tugged on it.

She huffed, "I can't remove it!"

"Can't you use your magic?"

Rory chuckled as she put pressure on her neck wound. She felt lightheaded and her back thumped against the wall, "I'm a little drained at the moment."

"Are you okay?" she asked, "Did you get bit?"

"Just a little," Rory shrugged, "Maia...I'm sorry, but the vamps took everyone out."

She heard a light gasp from the other side. Jordan tried to calm her down as tears fell down her cheeks. Rory sighed and pushed herself back up, "I'm gonna get you out of there."

She steadied her breath and reached out for her magic. She felt the energy connect and calm her down. She slowly placed her hand on the barricade, pulsing out a gentle wave of magic every second.

The metal bars slowly melted and dripped onto the floor. Rory kept melting it until the puddle at her feet was too hot to be near. She pulled the door open and let the light hit the scared faces of Maia and Jordan.

The former looked over her body in concern. As soon as she saw that they were free, Rory sighed in relief and fell against the wall. She slid down in exhaustion as Maia pulled Jordan out.

"Thanks for the help."

Rory nodded and gave her a thumbs up. Maia squatted down and checked her vampire bite, "That doesn't look so little."

Rory brushes her hand away, "I'll be fine. But right now...I'm in the mood to kick a psychotic vampire bitch in the ass."

Rory grumbled as she trudged up the stairs. She harshly pushed the doors open to the Institute. She instantly received looks of concern at her state, but she ignored them and kept a purposeful stride towards the ops center.

Alec spotted her and ran over, grabbing her arm, "What the hell happened?"

"I'm fine," she dismissed.

"Don't tell me you're fine when your entire body is covered in blood!" he worried, "What happened? I've been trying to call you."

"There was a situation and I dealt with it. We don't have time to worry about it right now."

He gently turned her chin to reveal the fang marks on her neck. She winced and pushed his hand off.

"You need to see a medic," he ordered.

"I don't need one. I just need a bit of time to refuel and then I can fix myself."

He sighed, "A vampire bite is dangerous."
