A Twice Married Tradition

"Where would they be?"

"My guess is that they'd try and stop Lilith."

"We know where her castle is," Rory said, "We'll take you there."

Magnus nodded and opened a portal. Alec quickly ran through, followed by the rest of them. They spotted Jace, Izzy, and Meliorn in the far corner.

"What happened to him?" Rory asked, kneeling next to the bleeding Seelie.

"Where's Lilith?" Simon asked.

"She's gone. She turned into this enormous flying wraith," Izzy informed.

"One of her wings sliced right through Meliorn," Jace added.

Rory conjured her magic and sent a blanket of energy over his body. Meliorn groaned in pain as she tried to stop the bleeding.

"I've seen Lilith like that before," Clary said, "It was when she was strong enough to murder Ithuriel."

"Where is she?" Alec asked worriedly.

"Coming for Magnus and Rory," Jace said regrettably, "She wants to reopen the rift."

Rory stopped healing Meliorn when Magnus pointed to a flying figure, "Looks like she found us."

"Stand back," Lorenzo commanded.

He nodded to Magnus, and together they shot a fireball at Lilith. The magic did nothing, so Alec shot five arrows at her. It also had no effect but agitate her.

As Lilith drew closer, Izzy stepped forward. She ignited her hands on fire, a motion that shocked Rory and Magnus.

"Izzy, don't!"

She ignored them and shot the flames towards Lilith. The demon surged forward, but was ultimately turned to ash. Izzy grimaced and fell to the ground, her entire body alight with the flames. They all crowded around her in worry.

"One of you heal her!" Alec shouted.

All of them tried to use their magic but it uselessly bounced back at them.

"It's not working!" Lorenzo said, "The Heavenly Fire is stopping us."

They all paused and caught their breath. Clary pulled out her stele, "What if I put the Alliance rune on Izzy? We could bond her to all of us. We could maybe absorb some of the flame."

"How do we know it's not gonna fry us up?" Lorenzo asked, "Remember, we all have demon blood now."

"We all have Nephilim blood too," Alec reminded, "Let's do this."

They nodded and formed a circle. Izzy warned them against it but they ignored her concern. Clary snatched Rory and Magnus' arms, drawing a rune on their wrists.

"What are you doing?"

"We all need to be connected," she answered vaguely.

Rory winced as the stele left a burned rune. Alec grabbed her hand and pulled her into the circle. As soon as they were all connected, the fire started to spread to each one of them.

Rory grunted and weakly cried out as the heat got to her. She felt Alec's hand shake in hers. Once they were all affected, the flames on them centered in the middle and shot up into the sky in a fiery explosion. The flames disappeared and the sky returned to normal as the energy dissipated.

They all panted as they checked to see if everyone was okay. Izzy's body was back to normal and Alec sighed in relief, "Thank the Angel you're okay!"
