Chapter 13

We went to the hotel and gathered in the largest room, Starks. Not after changing into comfy clothes, I put on white shorts with a evergreen tie then put on a top similarly colored to the tie of my shorts, with quarter length sleeves. The shirt has three buttons on top, I undo the first.

We joke and laugh. Tony teases Natasha. I've never noticed how buddy buddy he is with Steve; it's sweet. The room has a couch, a love seat, and two beds. I take the first bed, claiming it with Baby. Banner takes the second, he's in aqua scrub pants and a plain black tee. Natasha, who's in black flannel pants and a gray short sleeved top, takes half the love seat. Clint who's in boxers and a short sleeved SHEILD shirt, shares the love seat. Tony, in dark blue personalized, silk pajama bottoms and a snug fitting red shirt that says 'I'm Iron Man', lays on the couch. Steve, in sweats and a shirt nearly identical to Tonys that says 'Team Iron Man!', allows Tony to put his feet in his lap, and pulls out the recliner, leaning back.

We make multiple bags of popcorn and decide to watch the first two Paranormal Activity movies, because Steve isn't aware they aren't real, and he's recently learned the existence of ghost and demons. We rent the first movie, Banner falls asleep within thirty minutes, bored with the childishness. Steve doesn't seem scared, but you can tell, he's... captivated. Tony stays awake, probably just because it's in his nature. I notice Nat and Clint try to be interested but, in their life times, they've probably seen much more fascinating, and end up passing out towards the end. Nat was perched on the arm of the chair when we settled in but ended up closer to Clint. Clint had his legs up on the recliner, Nat ended up curled into his chest; halfway between how they were in the hospital and how I fell asleep on Steve last night. I get slightly bored toward the middle of the second one. At the part when the pan falls, I look around and see the dim lamp, the only source of light; other than the screen. Smirking I redirect my attention the to screen, clear my head and imagine the light flickering once. Neither of the guys seem to notice, so I make it flicker, noticeably.

"Keegan, cut it out." Steve grumbles.

"I- I'm not doing that." I lie, pretending to be freaked.

"Sure." He mumbles.

"Christo." I say, remembering seeing it in dad's journal; demons flinch at the name of God, which is Christo, Christ in Latin. I make the light turn off completely.

"Keegan." He warns, getting more upset.

"Go-lly! I can't have any fun!" I give in, wanting credit for the scare if it's ever a told story.

"That's not fun." Steve gripes, Tony sticks a thumbs up at me, letting my know he's awake. Steve hits him and he changes it to a rude middle finger. I chuckle.

The second one ends. Since were the only three awake, we watch normal people TV. Tony wants to watch Family Guys, but I want to watch the best show ever, The Golden Girls. With Steve's help, I win. After an episode Tony sits up, looks over at me and mouths.

'You awake?'

'Steve asleep?' I mouth back. He nods.

'Food?' He mouths.

I rub my stomach and agree. Tony, Baby and I slip out and make our way barefoot to his car.

"What should we get? It's only-" he looks at his watch. "Two in the morning."

"McDonalds."

We go to MickyD's and get ice cream and chicken nuggets. I get Baby one of her own. Tony talks about his plans to get all the Avengers under one roof, so on event of global catastrophe they're all ready to go.
