Scarlett...
I was shocked. And now tell me solemnly wouldn't you be? The boy I thought was dead for about three months now just randomly appears here at the gates of my school fighting with one of my fricking best friends and he just casually says hello darling? Like what the hell am I supposed to swoon over that? Only thing I am capable of doing now is fainting from the shock but that would be a very weak choice of actions.
"What, so you actually know him?" Jason asked stunned. He was still being held back by Rowan and if he didn't speak up I would have totally forgotten that they were still here and that it wasn't just me and Five in some fantasy land.
"As I kindly informed you before you made that foolish decision to attack me, I am Scarlett's boyfriend." Five said a bit too proudly, his eyes shifting from Jason and back to me. As if to ask me for my confirmation. I sighed seeing his green eyes bore into me.
"Yeah, he is," I answered with a low voice still not getting my head into the fact that Five is actually standing right here in front of me.
"Now I see the reason for the obsession with green," I heard Rowan mumble behind me causing a deep red blush to creep across my cheeks. She knows how to properly embarrass a person. And the teasing tone in her voice was unmistakable.
I looked back up at Five. We had a small conversation through our eyes. I could see in his green orbs that he had something rather important to tell me. I raised my eyebrows a little asking him what is it. His eyes looked behind me to glance at my two best friends who were both confused. In Jason's case even slightly angry. You see he is a bit overprotective over me and Rowan. And knowing Five he wasn't exactly polite with him. With a sigh, I turned to my friends.
"Guys go ahead, I need to talk with him. I will come before curfew...if not, Rowan, keep our window open," I requested my best friend who nodded her head eagerly not seeing a problem in helping me sneak inside the orphanage after curfew. She did it for me many times before and sometimes we would even be outside together and would force Jason into helping us. While Rowan was fine with it Jason was, as expected, skeptical.
"Why do you want to go with him? He can hurt you," He reason tearing himself free from Rowan's grasp, unintentionally hurting the poor girl's feelings. I watched the sadness shadowing Rowan's face which made me slightly angry.
"Jason, I know you are worried about me but you gotta trust me. I will be okay," I told him, trying to keep my distance because I knew that once he would get a hold of me he would drag me back home. He is maybe forceful sometimes but he means good. Both me and Rowan got quite used to it over time.
I didn't give him time to answer as I turned around to face Five. He wore a smug look on his face and was looking Jason's way. Ugh, these boys. Stupid like little kids even if they are 58 years old. I swear I might go crazy if I get another guy into my life.
"Come on," I urged Five pushing him forward so he would start walking. I led him over towards the park where I used to go with Rowan and Jason on our free days. They would wait for me here when I had additional singing lessons or when Jason had a football practice or Rowan was just being late in general because she got distracted. We spend so much time here that it is almost unbelievable. Throughout the whole three months, I've been here this has been my favorite place so far.
"I need to talk to you," Five broke the silence once we were passing the pond with ducks. The fresh memory of Rowan falling into that pond last week played in my mind causing a small smile to appear on my lips.
"I figured as much. But first I have a few questions of my own," I gave Five a sideways glance. Taking in the picture of him. He is still taller than me and in all honesty, he even looks older than the last time I saw him. Of course, I only aged three months, and while he seemed to gain a year at least. But that doesn't sound right as I am certain I am here longer than him.
