Chris married me next month on a beach wedding, April was my maid of honour and Sherry my bridesmaid, Edward was Chris’s best-man.

Dad wouldn’t leave the room I was to be dressed in this time, hoping to stop me if I ran but then he wouldn’t believe me when I told him how much I loved Chris and would NEVER run away.

And then there was the chaos, all around were the echoes of me crying and ranting and raving and April going crazy shouting at me and my dad trying to pull her back.

When I walked down the aisle I saw Chris wink at me and at that moment I knew what a lucky idiot I was to be in love with this man, madly in love with him.

After the ‘I do’s’ were shared and the priest announced us man and wife, dad was the happiest man alive, I thought he faint with the relief but he held on … somehow and then there was time for the first dance. April being the evil minded chit she was played ‘save the last dance for me’ but when Chris pulled me in his arms I forgot EVERYTHING (even the fact that this was my wedding) and just flowed in his arms.

“I love you, Mrs. Davis.” Chris whispered in my ear and even after this time my heart skipped a beat.

“I love you too, Mr. Davis.” I whispered back and Chris had patted my butt.

After the ceremony had been over and I had very dutifully thrown the flowers in April’s hand Chris took me home and made wild, passionate love to me. That night resulted in nine months of pain and anxiety for both of us.

I will never forget the day I delivered little Amethyst Davis, Chris had went berserk hearing my shouts and had fainted, the poor doctor had treated HIM first and then when I had been ordered to push, Chris had literally jumped up and down.

But nothing could replace the joy I had seen of his face when he had held his baby daughter, Chris had been of cloud nine, like me.

We made a good life together and we were still going.

Nothing was more important than the love we shared and the little rascals who were part of our family.
