Chris’s P.O.V:

“Hold me please.” She whispered and I did, I couldn’t ignore the look in her eyes when she had asked me as if reading my mind, nothing would have made me happier than just holding her like this, close to my heart, for the whole night.

She looked so peaceful when she slept, like a baby, with her mouth open a little and her face soft with sleep.

Oh lord, she was so beautiful. And I loved her so much. If only, I could tell her, but she would freak out, she had told me she had come away from love, to have a break and stupid that I am, I had given my heart to her. Even if I gift wrapped it and presented it to her, it would be thrown back in my face.

Caramel sighed and snuggled closer to me, I groaned. Oh god, did she have any idea what she was doing to me? Hell, I could hardly control myself now; I mean I was a man after all. I so bloody much wanted to tell her that I loved her, and I will, so what if she refuses, I’m a big guy I’ll get over it. Will I?

Bloody hell, I’m such a big muddle.

“Chris.” Caramel mumbled and I froze. She snuggled even closer to me and I gulped.

I had known I was in deep shit when the first time she had looked at me with those big frightened green eyes of hers, and after that day there was no turning back. I loved everything about her, the way she smiled, the way she feasted on her lips when she was scared, the way she tugged my hair when we kissed, the way she jumped when she was excited, her not so funny jokes, her nervous stutter, I loved the fact that she was the only girl I knew who affected me in such a way, I loved the fact that she had taught me how to love, how she lit up my world with just a smile, I loved the way she blushed everytime she was caught looking at me, I loved the fact that I could be … me with her and that there was no pretences … in short I just loved her, truly madly deeply. And yet I couldn’t have her because she didn’t feel the same.

Caramel shifted beside me and then she opened her eyes. Shock crossed her features and I stifled a laugh.

“What are you doing here?” She demanded and before I could reply she remembered.

“You did.” She whispered and pulled out of my arms.

”I did what?” I asked her and she looked me in the eye. Sometimes I felt like she wanted to tell me something and there was a longing in her eyes but she never did and that drove me mad, I remembered the way she had started to tell me something when we had been dancing yesterday and then Sherry had interrupted us, I got these small signals everytime our eyes clashed and that made me feel like she felt … something for me if not love but she would never say anything. Never.

“Hold me through the night.” She whispered again.

“Why are you shocked? You asked me to and I did.” I said with a shrug and again she met my eye. God, she would have to STOP doing that or I won’t be responsible for my actions.

“Thank-you.” She mumbled and that rattled me a bit, I hadn’t expected her to say that.

“Don’t mention it.” I said casually and she nodded. I saw her wavering and then she sat up.

“I think I’ll go shower.” She said, she looked jumpy so I just nodded.

“Good idea, you go ahead and I’ll get you something to eat. I make mean bacon and eggs.” I said and when she mumbled another thanks and gave me a week smile, I walked out of her room.

Something was wrong with her because she was almost aloof to me but polite. I had seen a flicker of emotions in her eyes when she had woken up to find me next to her but after that she had given me a thank you and a lame excuse to get away.
