Chapter 2 Diagnosis

"How long do you reckon he'll be out for?" Iris asked Caitlin as she looked at her unconscious husband.

"Well due to a rapid drop in his blood pressure, best I can tell is thirty minutes" Caitlin said, looking at Barry's test results. An expression of shock slowly appeared on her face.

"Do we know what caused him to pass out?" Joe asked. Caitlin didn't speak. She just looked at the test results.

"Caitlin? You ok?" Cisco asked. Caitlin looked at Cisco and shook her head.

"The reason for Barry's symptoms is right here. He's got brain cancer" Caitlin said. Joe stood there in utter shock and to be honest, the whole team did too. Iris looked at Caitlin in shock before looking back at Barry.

About thirty minutes later just like Caitlin said, Barry woke up. When he woke, he noticed the heartbroken looks on their faces.

"Guys? What's wrong?" Barry asked. Caitlin handed Barry his test results and he was just as shocked as the team was.

"Wha-what are we gonna do?" Barry asked, looking back at the team.

"Everything that we can so that the worst doesn't happen" Caitlin said. Barry nodded. He then looked at Iris and kissed her.

"I love you" Iris sobbed.

"I love you too" Barry said, tearfully.

Over the next few days, Barry had several tests done to try and slow down the cancer in his brain. Those tests were working but not good enough. Barry experiences more fainting spells and eventually seizures.

Barry was currently in a wheelchair and he was wearing a black oversized jumper, some track pants and a beanie to hide the fact that he was bald as a result of chemo.
