The next day was interesting. I don't really know how to sum it up, so I'm just going to tell you what happened from start to finish.

Ashton knocked on the door. "Razz?" I heard him call. "Ms. Asanda."

Mom was asleep, so she wasn't going to be hearing him. I decided I'd better be the one to open the door, even though I was really mad at him about our fight, days earlier.

As I swung the door open, he just stood there, looking at me, sheepishly. We stared at each other in silence for a while, the tension was higher than the clouds and I wanted to run away screaming, and judging from Ashton's expression he felt the same way.

"Well?" I finally said.

"Razz, I-" Ashton stammered, his voice barely audible. "I'm sorry."

This was weird. Ashton very rarely said he was sorry.

"I shouldn't have judged her so quickly. I was a bigot, the one thing I hate most in this world, I'm sorry." He continued.

"What did you have against her in the first place." I question.

Ashton winced. "I don't want to talk about it." He said.

"Ash, what is it?" I pressed on.

"I said I DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT." He finally snapped.

I froze, stunned by his response. Ashton began to compose himself again.

"You don't understand..." He whispered, a tear slipping down his face.

I looked at him, but said nothing.

"It's my fault she's got that scar."

"Wha-" I muttered, shocked. "Wh-what do you mean?"

"I was the one who threw the rock!" He yelled. "I broke her windshield, and the glass cut her up, bad. Really bad."

"Ash, I..." I began in a pathetic attempt to console him. "You couldn't have been older than ten. You didn't know any better."

"I tried to make it over the car, Razz, that's what I was trying to do." Ashton cried. "It was a game, I never meant for it to go wrong and hurt somebody."

"Ash, you know you didn't mean to hurt anyone." I said, gently, hearing his sniffling.

"How could she ever forgive me if she knew who I was." He whispered.

"I would..." I told him. "For what it's worth, I think I would."
