When you opened Miley's music room you were met with a long groan falling from her lips as she dropped the pen in her hand and her head onto her forearm.

You know she's hard at work on some new music, but she's pushing herself harder than you've seen before. You could tell her shoulders were tense before you even touched them. You came up behind her before she could pick that pen up once again. You wrapped your arms around her and your cheek fell against her shoulder blade. She sighed contently at your comforting touch.

"Baby? Everything alright?" She asked. You found it sweet that even as tired and stressed as she was, she still checks up on you so often.

"I don't know, baby. Is everything alright with you? You seem so stressed."

She was quiet for a moment until you began to rub her shoulders. All that fell from her lips was a cute little hum. She needed the little massage you were giving her. But something told you she needed something else just a little more.

"Want a hug?"

She turned around with a tired smile on her lips. "Yes. Always."

You climbed onto her lap and let her hold onto you tight. She instantly let her head fall forward on your chest. You still rubbed her shoulders a little. She seemed less tense now, though. She seemed much more content.

"I love you. Thanks for helping me."

You nodded and kissed her when she lifted her head from your chest only seconds later. "Anytime. I know you're in a little bit of a rut, but you'll get there soon. Don't stress yourself too much."

You brought your fingers up to brush a lock of her blonde hair behind her ear. She took a second to kiss you once, twice, then three more times. You tried to pull away afterward. Thinking she was more inspired and in a better headspace than before, now that she seemed calmer. But it was proving to be harder than you thought with how tight her arms were around you.

Her grip wasn't so tight that it hurt or that you couldn't breathe. Just enough to make sure you couldn't leave her lap.

You chuckled when you realized this. Her blue eyes seemed to be sparkling now. Her smile was a little less lazy than before. Her happiness had returned, thanks to you.

"And where do you think you're going?" She asked.

"Well, I was gonna give you some space, but," you tried to say, only for her to shake her head and let it fall against your chest.

"No, no. No need for that. I'm much happier with you here." She brushed the tip of her nose against yours. "Besides, you're kinda inspiring me. There's no way I'm letting you go now, my girl." She laughed and it only grew louder when she tickled your sides for a few seconds.

"Can't say I don't like the sound of that."

As she straightened up and grabbed her pen, you took the opportunity to lay your head on her chest and let the sound of her steady heartbeat fill your ears.

One thing was clear; she was much happier now, and you were too.
