Chapter 12: The Final Attack

Tenzin's phone rang and he answered it while Ikki and Meelo were getting to know Kotori and Jett. They told them the story of when they were caught by Amon and how Kotori resisted Kuvira. Kotori was talking about the little trashy boat she road on when Tenzin came in. "I got a call from the president and I need to go see him. He's called another meeting. You're welcome to come if you'd like, but you would have to wait outside." Tension informed. "I'd like that! Jeff can come too right?" Kotori asked. "I guess that would be alright." Tenzin agreed. "I don't know about this guy!" Meelo commented.

They got to the president's building and Kotori and Jett decided just to say outside. Tenzin had left and Jett and Kotori stared at each other for a moment. "Why didn't you tell me about Sokka?!" Jett asked upset. "I didn't think there was anything to tell." Kotori shrugged.

"Noth- nothing to tell?! Sokka was the non bender of Avatar Aang's company! He was awesome! How could you-" "hey hey, sorry! But I mean, I'm friends with Bolin, he's a part of Avatar Korra's group and it's not like you made a-" Kotori was cut off. "That's another thing! You didn't tell me about Bolin either!" Jett blurted. "Yes I did! I told you how I made it out of the Earth Nation and-" Kotori was cut off again. "but you didn't tell me he was with the Avatar!" Jett snapped. "Well I said Bolin and I-" "there's more then one Bolin in this world Kotori." Jett calmly said, placing his hand on his head.

"Ohhhhh my bad." Kotori said, Jett nodded, not removing his hand from his forehead. The evening sun was warm and bright until something shaded it from Jett and Kotori. They looked up to see what was separating them from the light. A flying bison was coming to land. When it came to eye level, Kotori saw Bolin with a bunch of others. Kotori sprinted towards them and stopped when she arrived. "Bolin! You're back! What were you-" "not right now Kotori, I have to go. Sorry." Bolin interrupted hopping off the bison. The whole group passed by Kotori without a second glance.

They all walked inside, leaving Kotori and Jett alone again. "Are those people you forgot to tell me about too?" Jett asked. "No! I have no idea who they are." Kotori snapped.

They waited several minutes before the bunch stepped back out. "Bolin? What happened?" Kotori asked. "Well, I helped Opal save her family from Kuvira, and saved Zhu Li while we were there. But Kuvira is attacking the united republic in two weeks. There's going to be a mandatory evacuation." Bolin sighed. "Well, then I'm staying to fight." Kotori stated. "And I'm sticking with Kotori." Jett added. "No you guys-" "we want to help." Kotori cut Bolin off. "Alright fine. But it is voluntary, so at any time" Bolin said. "We won't." Kotori smiled.

A day passed and Republic City was preparing for war. Citizens were being evacuated, the army was practicing and the inventors were making weapons. Later that day on air temple island, Mako, Korra, Asami and Bolin came down the stairs. Kotori stopped Bolin as the others kept walking. "Bolin, I know you're leaving to stop Kuvira, and Jett and I are coming." Kotori said firmly. "We're taking the Bison, I'm not sure you'd want to ride-" "well follow below, we'll follow your lead." Kotori cut off. "Alight." Bolin sighed then left to join the others.

The flying bison was saddled and Mako, Korra, Asami and Bolin were on it. "You two ready?" Bolin asked. "Yes." Kotori replied. And they took off. Kotori lifted a platform of rock and started bending it like a hover board and followed. Jett and Kotori started hearing sound of machines. As they followed the bison, the noise grew louder. Suddenly the bison took an unexpected turn and swerved down ward. "What's wrong?" Jett asked. "I don't know." Kotori answered, looking up at the ballistic bison.

Then a large ray of purple just barely miss the flying bison. Jett and Kotori screamed as flashes of purples hit their skin. They weren't even that close but the could feel a slight sting. It blasted again and again and the flying bison turned around. "Aren't we going to follow them?" Jett asked. "No, I'm finding out what Kuvira has in mind for Republic City." Kotori replied. "Then I'm with you." Jett said. Kotori bent through the trees, weaving in and out among them. They were traveling at high speed and the came to the edge of the jungle and sped out unintentionally onto the path. Kotori tried to stop, but her slab of earth skimmed the ground and crashed, causing a cloud of dust to be behind them. The looked up the path and saw an army, hundreds of individual power suits, tanks and one enormous robot.
