Steve

He got out of the beamer, excited for school. This was his first day back in Hawkins in a year and he was going to surprise Robin and his boyfriend Mark. He walked in with a smile on his face, people whispering and staring at him, a few smiling awkwardly. Could he blame them? He was rich, good-looking, and the first one to come out in his school. Their words, not his.

When he saw the back of Robin's head talking to Heather, he crept up behind her and gripped her shoulders. "Boo!" He shouted, making her jump and turn around, immediately hugging him. "Holy shit dingus, you didn't tell me you were coming home today!" She said, pulling away. "Well, I obviously wanted it to be a surprise- Woah!" He was cut off by being lifted in the air from behind.

When he was put down he was met face to face with Mark. "Mark!" He said, hugging him tightly. "You didn't tell me you were coming either, why?" he asked, hands at Steve's waist. "Well, I wanted it to be a surprise!" He said happily, Mark's cold expression not changing. "You should've told me." He said, gripping Steve harder. "Okay, I'm sorry." He said, obviously uncomfortable.

He tried to play it off like he was fine when Mark eased up, but Robin was having none of it. Instead of causing a scene, she changed the subject. "So you're in town because of the pumpkins right?" Robin asked, using the code word for vampire. He shifted his attention back to her."Yeah, apparently there was an 'animal attack' last night. Samantha was drained of blood and had two puncture marks on her neck." He said as Mark walked away without a goodbye.

Steve sighed as he watched him go. "He's not good for you," Robin said and has been saying ever since they got together. "He's just upset I didn't tell him." He said, rubbing his sides where mark squeezed. "I wasn't upset and I've been your friend for 2 years, you've only dated him for 6 months." Steve rolled his eyes. "Whatever, he's just upset okay? I don't want to talk about it anymore."

Robin shook her head with a sigh, skimming Steve's schedule on his phone. "What do you have first?"

When he was in the middle of second period, the principal came in. "Sorry to interrupt but we have a new student. This is Billy Hargrove, he just moved here a few weeks ago. He's all yours." He said, walking out after giving the teacher a nod. Steve and Billy immediately locked eyes, a little smirk playing on the blonde's lips. "Well Billy, feel free to have a seat anywhere and just listen for the rest of the hour." The teacher said but neither of them was listening.

Steve's jaw was slightly open as he looked at the boy in front of him. Billy then simply walked to the desk next to Steve, sitting in it. "I'm-" "Billy," Steve finished, face flushing after. "Yeah, what's your name pretty boy?" He asked quietly as to not disturb class. "Steve. Steve Harrington." He said, offering his hand for Billy to shake.

Billy shook it. "Nice to know ya, Steve Harrington." He said, smoothly. Billy's hand was oddly cold for November. "I'm from Cali, not used to this cold weather." He said, seeming to read Steve's mind almost. "Okay, mindreader." He chuckled, taking his hand back. Billy grinned at him, turning his attention to the teacher. Steve kept catching glances at Billy as the class went on only to find him looking too.

At lunch, Steve was with Mark at Steve's locker. "Little birdy told me you were flirting with the new kid." He said as Steve put a few books away. "What?" Steve asked, shutting his locker and genuinely confused. "Second period, Adam told me you and him were flirting." Steve just looked at him.

"I wasn't flirting, I introduced myself and made small talk. I was being friendly." Steve defended, shrugging his shoulders and gripping the strap of his bag. "He touched you," Mark said, walking an inch closer.

"It was a handshake, Mark. It was innocent. I know what you're thinking and you know I wouldn't do that to you."

"You were blushing,"

"He complimented me, I do that with everyone!" Steve yelled, raising his hands in the air. Mark abruptly grabbed them tightly. "You don't raise your voice at me." He growled. "Stop, you're hurting me." Steve pleaded, finally ripping his arm away. "Don't yell at me again or it will be worse." Mark threatened, walking into the lunchroom. Steve blinked his tears away, following shortly after.

He was so wrapped up in everything he didn't notice Billy watching. And he wasn't happy.

"Billy come in here, I need to go over the names with you!" Neil called from the living room, Billy promptly heading in. "These are for the Hunters?" Billy asked, crossing his legs. Calm. Professional. They came to Hawkins because they were being hunted, again. He was anxious to just get rid of them and leave. Tired. "Yes, let me find the paper Xander wrote for us when we left. Ah, here." He said, putting his bag down and clearing his throat.

"Fredrick Harrington, Martha Harrington, and Steven Harrington, exclusively goes by Steve. I need you to find him and watch him. He goes to your school. Get his schedule and routes he takes so we can capture him without being seen." He said, Billy's heart dropping. "Steve, I saw him today," He said, swallowing hard. He's the one they're after. The boy from school. The pretty boy from school. "Befriend him, get close to him. Figure out his day to day basis. I want to know what car he drives, where his friends live, what grocery store he goes to. Do not fail me, William."

"Yes sir," He said, shaking his head firmly, and walking out of the room. Fuck.

Harrington.

God, why didn't he recognize the name? It isn't the most popular in the world. He took a liking to Steve, he was one of the few people he didn't want to suck dry. One of the prettiest boys he's ever laid eyes on. Why did I agree with that, I should've told Dad no, he thought gripping at his hair.

What is he going to do now?
