My legs couldn't move it felt like everything had come to a stop, my heart was being hammered into a million portions that had no chance of being glued back together, water filled my eyes wanting to flow down like a river.
I ran away from the room before Jake's eyes met mine. I made sure I ran into the crowd bumping into a strong muscular chest that hurt.

"Sorry," I said walking away as fast as I could but my hand was pulled from behind dragging me to lie in his chest, the stranger's cologne reminded me of Mason. I looked up to see who the stranger was with my eyes still recharged with tears that would flood my cheeks any moment.
"Emmy what's wrong?" he asked concerned with his eye brows furrowed. "Nothing, " I pulled away from his chest trying to dry the tears from my eyes and running towards the door and sitting on the staircase.
"Do you need a drink?" he sat down next to me uninvited.

"Yes, thanks, " I grabbed the red plastic cup that was filled with beer. "So what happened? Why are you in this state?" He inquired staring into my eyes.

'Should I tell him or not'

"If you are not ready to tell me then it's fine, I understand, " he softly said holding out my hand. "Why is it one time you are so friendly to me and the other you just treat me like I don't exist?" I expressed my feelings.

"I also don't know why?" He let out, "even though we don't talk much, I feel intrigued by you, you differ from all other girls, the way you compose yourself is fascinating, your character is unique and your face is something that can't easily get erased from my memories, " he whispered getting closer making the gap disappear gradually. Suddenly, he pulled back apologizing.

"I found Jake making out with another girl, " I blurted looking away from his eyes, I didn't want him to look at me with sympathy. "I don't know what to say but remember what I told you last time don't give some one your hurt entirely because if you care so much you will get hurt and if you care less they will leave you, " he suggested sounding like a motivational speaker.

'The way he is speaking makes me think that he has been through a serious disastrous fatal breakup, maybe there is more to him than I expected. Should I ask him? Will he answer such a personal question'

"Seems like you have ever encountered a horrible heartbreak?" I asked carefully not to trigger any anger. "Yes, but that's a story for next time, " he said pulling me in laying my head on his chest, I could feel it rising and sinking in an accompanying way. My brain started drifting my thoughts remembering everything that had happened today starting with the kiss that gave rise to my happiness and the downfall to my heart after what I saw.
A hand stroking my hair brought me back to my senses.

'Mason was the last person I expected to give me comfort in this time but I'm sure after today he is going to act like he doesn't know me at all so I should stop getting too comfortable around him'

"I guess I should get going, " I stood up wondering how I was going to get home. "Do you need a ride?" He offered, "no, thanks I think I will take an Uber, " I carried out my phone to check how long it would take the nearest Uber to arrive.
"What's wrong, " he got up peering at my phone. "Let me just give you a ride, you can't wait for an hour for an Uber and again pay yet you have an available free ride here with a driver at your service, " he tried lightening up the mood with a sweet white smile. I nodded my head lightly showing my acceptance.

The car blinked orange twice while making a beep sound unlocking the doors, I clenched the door handle, yanking it open creating a path for me to entire the classy black vehicle. I wasn't ready to go back home so I decided to ask Mason, "Is it fine if we go somewhere else instead of my place? If you don't mind, "

"We can go to an arcade, " he steered his wheel rapidly to the right changing the course of the journey, he didn't wait for my reply. He drove none stop with no words, the only things that he paid attention to were the road and the steering wheel. "You literally don't talk at all when you are in the car, " I said before opening the door and placing my left foot on the ground. "If I start talking then trust me we will end up playing in this car until we get tired," he smirked turning me on.

'Come on Emmy small words can't have a huge impact on you, you are just from learning that you can't trust guys, but what can I do player's got game.'

He entered inside it was an amazing aesthetic retro arcade, vintage games filled in every corner coloured with neon glowing lights that made the place nice for a simple nice romantic casual date. It was the same as I saw in movies but the only catch was the place was not crowded or populated, it was empty and the only thing occupying room was the retro machines.

"Why is the place empty," I asked curiously. "That's because the owner is a good friend of mine and leaves it open on the weekends for me, " he said showing me the keys to the place.  It seemed Mason didn't like hanging out with so many people.

'If this was my place I would not leave my place open. Now if burglars break in, what would he do?' I thought deeply to myself before heading over to one of the controllers I didn't understand.

I inserted in a coin before it turned itself on and a yellow smiley emoji appeared along with its title 'Packman'. "I doubt you will be able to handle that game, " he came closer to me as he gave me instructions. It got more fun each time I played until I got tired of it and ran over to a machine that seemed to have hoops and basketballs in the centre.

'I am so proud of myself that finally I had a sport this year. Honestly I am as lazy as fuck, I eat all day, stay up on my screen and sleep, the only time I try to get back in shape is when I am going to wear a body hugging dress on a fancy date which thank God I no longer do ' I laughed at my unfit lifestyle.

"Tell me why you didn't want to go back to your place," he questioned. "Well, I am not ready to face Jake yet," I explained aiming the brown small round mini basketball that was lying in my palms.

' I don't want to deal with the stress of either believing or disagreeing with whatever excuse he had planned '

"You can stay at my place for the night," he offered placing his arm on my back making me experience a shock that coursed through my whole body.

'What!!!!! How is it possible that I feel attracted to two boys at the same time, when I get hurt by one the other one is always there for me it's like they are playing games. I think I am going to go insane. Is it only me that finds emotions and stressing'
