Chapter Eleven; Morning Faces

I walked in the lobby wet with water still trickling down my neck and my teeth chattering. I really felt bad for the janitor, the floors were sparkling and here I was walking on them, water sketching my shoe print on the sparkling ground making a trail.

Unlocked the door and tossed the keys on the counter, freezing.
I took off the clothes that had been pressing against my skin and ran in the shower to grope the most striking sensation.
I wore my dark blue drawstring shorts along with a grey sleeveless and leaped onto the soft relaxing mattress that was dressed in white bedsheets and a nice cozy warm black and white striped blanket.

I couldn't stop thinking about both the dates, I had the perfect date I had always wanted with Jake and ended in shock with the kiss but Mason's was so unique and showed that he took time to prepare although it was just meant to be two friends just having fun.

Though, I still wonder why did Mason all of a sudden want to hang out because it's not like we are tight.

I felt rays trying to penetrate my eye lids and entering my eyes. I reached out for my phone and found a text from Jake, excitement rushed through my veins and warm furzy feeling of butterflies running free in my tummy occurred.

'Hi, I'm arriving at your door any minute now'

What I haven't even showered, my morning breathe is horrible and so is my appearance plus I have to shave my armpits because they are terrifying.

I jumped out of the bed and tried getting out of my stinking clothes but the clothes were acting like a villain of my love story. I brushed my teeth as first as I could and stepped right into the shower. A knock startled me as I realized that he was already here. I didn't have the time to wait for the heater so for the first time I showered cold water and it was torture according to me.

The knock got louder and louder each minute, I flung and wrapped the white soft towel across my medium sized body, well not medium but that's what I go with. I ran to the door as fast as I could and opened the door panting but found Mason standing there with Jake, Jake's face looked worried but Mason's was as blank as usual and there was no surprise there.

"Hey, why are you guys here?" I said trying to put my lips close together so that I don't say anything stupid that didn't make sense, I raced to my bedroom to avoid the pressure of controlling my words and dressing up, "We came to invite you to go out with us to the club," I could hear him walk closer to my room but I was still fucking nude which made my heartbeat faster and I ran towards the door and slammed it but I don't know if I did in his his face.

Shit as much as I would love to go, I have to go see Jade because if I don't she will kill me since she wants to know how yesterday went.

"I can't do it tonight, I have plans with Jade but I promise to make up for it, " I assured him while pulling up my jeans. "Why don't you make it up to me tomorrow night,".

"Yeah, I'm free tomorrow night," I said opening the door slowly trying to act like a gentle person because my friends said I have a habit of doing things in a manly which I realized and regretted when I I slammed the door.

"Great, so we will get going since you are going to meet Jade," he looked back at Mason whose eyes were glued on the phone. "Have a fun night," I faked a wide smile.

I hope he doesn't have a lot of fun especially with other girls, anyway it's not like it bothers me that much.

He walked over to Mason whom he patted lightly gesturing him that it was time to leave.
Mason stood up waving at me with a smile and approaching the door.

I called and Uber to pick me up and take me to Jade's place.
Nothing was different about her place it was the same.
"So tell me how did both dates go,"she sat in the couch with her feet crossed. " Jason and I went to the carnival and went on some rides took some pictures, " I proceeded taking out my phone to show her the pictures we took, "ate some cotton candy, basically we did normal things people do at carnivals, " I went on.
"Awww the pictures are so cute and adorable, " a huge smile went on my face.

"As he dropped me home he kissed me and I ran inside and waited for Mason...". I talked fast hoping she didn't hear that part.
"Wait, what!! Jake kissed you, hurry up and don't spare any detail, how was he? Did he do it with passion? " she interrupted me.
"I guess he did it with passion and he was good at it, " I blushed each second I remembered how it went.
"That's all?" She said frowning. "Yes, it sounds weird me describing it to you, " I giggled. "Okay, continue, " she scowled.

"As I was saying Mason picked me up and we went to the stadium, had pizza, starred at the stars while talking our emotions and played in water, " I said playing with the strings of my hoodie. "That was simple and creative, " she said with a huge smile.
"Did you want it romantic yet it wasn't meant to be a date, " I sarcastically asked. "Ya, by the way he put a lot effort, he called me and asked what things you enjoyed and had always wanted to do" she said biting her lips.
"Yes that was so sweet of him, " I agreed with Jade.
"So have you talked to Jake again after the kiss, " she said walking over to the kitchen.

"He came to my apartment asking for me to go with him to a club, but I turned him down because today I was going to spend the day here, " I saw Jade rushing towards me and smacking my head with a pillow.
"What was that for?" I cried out. "How could you turn him down, are you crazy?" She said rushing back to the kitchen. "We all know if I didn't come you would over react, " I defended myself with any excuse I could uncover. "I would understand if you told me, " she explained filling a bowl with potato chips.

"So what movie are we going to watch today, " I asked changing the subject.
"I think always be my maybe, " she screamed approaching me.
We watched over five movies until I realized it was midnight and told Jade bye although she was sad that I was leaving without finishing the last one, I couldn't stay.
I walked down the hallway to my apartment but spotted a figure sitting outside my door.

"Jake, what are you doing here?" I questioned him but he seemed wasted. "Emmy, you're back!" He said trying to get up.
"Yes, why are you here, " I asked worried. "I came to check up on you but you weren't home, do you mind if I crash at your place because I doubt I can make it to my place, please!" he pleaded. He walked into my apartment like a toddler who is learning how to walk. I closed the door, put everything aside and gave him a hand to the couch where I removed his shoes and covered with an extra duvet .
