Paris' POV
June 4th, 1964

I woke up this morning with the biggest smile I've had in a while. Why?; you may ask. Well, because today is not only my first day at my new job, but also the first day away; OFFICIALLY away from my horrid stepmom.

That might seem a little rude to say but it's the truth, that is the reason I'm happy. My dad cheated on my mom a few years ago with who is now my stepmom, this causing them to divots and thus again causing us to move all the way from Dallas to Tulsa, my childhood home.

My stepmom was always horrible to me, always excluding me from activities she would take my dad and her own kids to do. It didn't bother me as much as it bothers my mom. Though, everything is much better now, and my stepdad Malcom is the best father figure I could ever ask for.

Anyways, enough of the ramble. I got up toda, maybe a couple hours before I'm supposed to..but I'm too excited! I started myself a hot shower, arranging all my new shampoos in color order.

Once the shower has ended, I quickly got my uniform off, I checked the close and I still had a hour left. I'm not sure why I put on my uniform so fast, hmm maybe I didn't realize how much time I had left, even thought I did wake up two hours earlier than what I'm supposed to. But hey!; On the bright side, I got all the sleep I needed.

Once I left for work, my stepfather was already up, he gave me a kiss on the forehead for good luck and sent me on my way. The drive there was smooth, I just got a new car, with help of my stepdad of course. He does a lot for me, and he's not like one of those mean and shunning stepdads in the movies; no he's kind and caring and loves me as if I where his own. And as far as anyone is concerned, I am his own.

I arrived at work and clocked in, once that was done I went straight into my bosses office like I was told to in the phone call.

"Excuse me?" I said knocking on the already opened door. A rather hacker man looked up from the newspaper he was holding. "Who are- oh ahh, yes your the new girl." He said in realization. He put his cigar down in his black masked ashtray and stood up to shake my hand.

I reached out my hand to shake his and smiled. "Yes sir, I'm Paris, the new Trainee." I replied. He nodded and his face turned confused. "Bartender correct?" He asked. "Oh no sir, waitress." I said politely.

"Oh yes that's correct. Let me introduce you to wonderful gentleman that's training you, he's my son by the way." He said. I nodded and followed him to another office where a very attractive man sat in a leather Rollie chair. "Oh hey dad, is this the new girl?" The boy asked. "Yes son it is, and here name is Paris. Paris, this is Justin, Justin, this is Paris."

I smiled shyly and waved and he nodded his head and got up. "So, to start off, your going to have to interact with some customers; take their order." He said pointing to a table with a couple boys at it. "Just go up there, be polite, tell them your name and ask for their order. Once you get the order you give it to the chef and once that's done, you'll hear a ding from the bell and you'll bring them their fold." He explained.

I took a deep breath and went over to the boys with my pen and notepad. Once I was closer to them I realized how attractive they where. Especially the taller one, what a cutie. "Hi, Im Paris, welcome to the Dingo how may I take your order?" I asked with a smile.

The boys smiled. "Hi Paris, may I please get the Dingo burger with fried please." The cuter, tanner one asked. "Yes sir and what drink would you like?" "Dr. Pepper please." He said. I turned to the other boy and got his order as well. I wrote their orders down in my notepad and went back to the kitchen.

"Alrighty how did it go?" Justin asked. I giggled, "it went great, the kids where real nice to me, and writing down their orders weren't too hard." I said. "Yea, Yea, maybe those boys where nice but trust me not all of them are like that. Some really like giving you a hard time, and if that ever happens just come get me, I'm the manager." He said a little harshly. "Oh okay yes sir."

I brought the boys their food and drinks, I was about to walk away when the younger one spoke up. "Um excuse me ma'am, my friend thinks your cute and I was wondering if he could get your number." He said chuckling.

I was stunned. I looked at the boy he was referring to and giggled, sighing. I got a napkin and wrote a fake number on it and gave it to the boy.

I went back to work and continued as if it was just a normal day; even though I had little to no idea what to do now. Taking orders isn't that hard, it's really just having to deal with the old folk who think they know better then you.

Once I was home I rushed toy stepdad. "Malcom! Malcom! My first day was great!" I shouted putting all my stuff down. (Keys, jacket..ect.) He chuckled. "Oh yea? Was it fun?" He asked with a smile. I nodded. "It sure was, a few old people shouting but otherwise it was great. I think this ones a keeper."

I then noticed my mother wasn't home. "Hey where's mom?" I asked. He sighed. "Her and I got into a little argument so she went to the store to get out of the house for a little." I sighed and nodded. "Yeah I know how that is. I guess it's good for her, to get away for a little bit." I added. He nodded in return.

I went to the kitchen to see if we had any fruit. Being around all that grease food makes me wanna vomit; sometimes it's good to have some veggies or some fruit every once in a while.

I found some oranges and some carrots so I put them in a bowel and put mustard at the top. According to my mom, this is the best combination you could ever have. I mean, obviously not the oranges, but the carrots and mustard might actually be good, who knows.

I went up to my room and sat in my bed. I grabbed my 3 way controller and turned on the cartoon Chanel. Adventure time was on and a smile spread across my face. "What a classic" I said to myself. I took a bite of my little snack I got myself and oh my goodness it was great.

When I was done with my snack/dinner for the night I hopped in the shower. The hot water gliding across my face and everything. Truly great.

Having little arguments and disagreements in the shower is honestly so fun, like arguing with yourself or winning a verbal fight really makes the time go by.

My mind wondered off and I started thinking of those boys at the dingo. I kinda regret giving them a fake number. Maybe I shoulda given them my real one.

I mean, they where cute, I just don't really know how old they are. They could be 13 for all I know. Or maybe not, they could be 16 or 17.

I shook my head to stop thinking about it. I can't be caught up on boys right now. I have to focus on saving up for collage and more important things.

I got out the shower and got my garments and jammys on. When my hair was dried I spread out across my new, comfy bed and slowely felt myself drift off to sleep.
