Chapter 9

It was dark outside our window and my mom keeps on combing my hair

Anak do you remember when were still living in states, the picture beside our bed? My mom asked behind me, she waited a sec for my response

Yes mom what about it? I asked

When the time comes that mom's life is in danger or maybe gone, you need to trust that face beside us in that picture. she said and waited again for my response

But mom, you said that I shouldn't trust anyone because we dont know yet if they are our enemy or not I  answered and she hug me tight

Anak that's why I'm telling you. That person in the picture is like a family to us, when you meet her and mom is not with you anymore you need to go with her and be good, okay? she said and smile 

Mom is that the reason why we keep on hiding? Because someone want to kill us? I asked my mom curiously

No anak it's because they want me, want to get something from me and use it to do evil things that's why we have our secret right? what is it again? she asked

Don't tell anyone our identity I said and she patted my head

Good girl she said with a smile, but after a sec. when she stood up and look at the window, the smile on her face suddenly faded, then she look at me again.

Anak should we play hide and seek? she asked and i just nod Alright I'll go downstairs first and count 1-20 and then you hide, don't go outside until I didn't boom you okay? promise me. She said and we did a pinky promise, When mom was already outside our room I immediately hide in our sliding door wardrobe, but then after a sec. mom came back but now she's walking backwards.

A man showed in front of her, I cant see his face because it was covered by a mask.

Who are you? my mom asked cautiously and keeps on walking backward the guy didn't answer her and immediately grab my mom's wrist and put a knife in her neck. I was supposed to go outside but my mom look at my direction and saying that I shouldn't go outside because she didn't tell boom yet.  My heart beats faster and my vision was getting blurry

Where's the flashdrive? the man asked still holding my mom

I don't know what you're talking about My mom said

Ha, stop playing around with me, did you know how much time we waste just to find you? The man said

I didn't obligate you to find me and I told you I don't know anything My mom said

Shut the fvck up! You know what we need so stop pretending, if your worrying about your life  boss doesn't want to kill you, so just give it to me and you'll be free  the man said

Do you think I'll believe you that easily? I know all about your shits, It's better to be killed than give that drive to you  my mom said and bite the man's arm

Ahhh!!!! the man shouted and push my mom with full force, mom fell on the floor and crawl up to the side table to get something on the drawer but it was too late. The man grab her foot and pull her. While my mom was struggling the man get something on his pocket and stabbed it on my mom's nape. Mom look at my direction again and smile genuinely

Iloveyou  she mouthed and slowly closing her eyes 

Mommy! 

Mommy!

Mommy! I shouted but there's no sound coming out, I cant even hear myself. The man get a blade and cut my mom's left pulse repeatedly until it bleeds 

 

My hand was trembling with anger and fear, wanting to save my mom but I can't because we did a promise to each other. I just cried silently. 

The man stood up and slowly look at my direction, my eyes widened when he did an evil smile on his face, as if he's seeing me from the outside. He lean towards my mom again but now he started kissing her neck continuously, he remove her clothes and started molesting my mom's dead body. 

 I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth. My body was full of anger to the point that I want to kill him too but I cant because if I do that, I cant give my mom's justice anymore, so that  I just choose to cry,  not just for myself but for my mom too.

Someone's POV 

Are you saying that the crime has a connection to my sister? The man asked in front of me. I was in someone's office here in the hospital 

 

Im not yet sure but, when she saw the killer's tattoo on his wrist, and the process kung paano pinatay ang biktima ay kaparehas ng nangyari 17 years ago. I answered 

Sino yung babae? he asked

I dont know yet, Im still finding information about her, because all the papers she have on her apartment was all fake. I said

How did you know? the slow witted man asked again 

Because Im the one who's handling the case the heck . I answered with annoyance 

Can I punch your face? tsk then how can you say that it was the same crime 17 years ago? He asked again argh is he really a doctor? tsk 

When I was investigating, it exactly look like it was a suicide because the woman's left pulse was cut by a blade but then when you examined her carefully there was something on her nape natatakpan lamang ito ng buhok kaya hindi halatang tinurukan ito ng lason. pero nang ipaexamine ko siya kanina ay walang nadetect na kung ano mang lason sa kaniyang katawan, the dead body was there the whole night so there's a posibility na nawawala ang talab ng lason sa kawatan ng patay after an hour and another thing the woman has a tattoo on her left thigh the same with your mother so Im really sure that she has a connection with the both of you. I explained

Investigate everything and report it to me. we need to stop this shit before pa malaman ng kapatid ko. I can't risk my life anymore. I only have 3 months left right? he asked and showed his left wrist. 

Probably yes? because I think may isa kapang pag gagamitan ng kakayahan mo I said 

what do you mean? He asked 

That woman has a daughter and looks like she know something, because when other people was asking her about what happened she didn't cooperate but when your sister talk to her and the way she look at her it looks like she knows her.  But don't worry the kid cant talk but then, you know what your sister can do right? I said,  he put his finger oh his chin as if he's thinking.

 I interrupt him after a minute Looks like your using it again huh? think carefully Eris you have 3 months left to stop your sister from remembering everything even about me

Shut the F up. I don't know what to do anymore, I just want to put my sister away from danger. why is this happening to me.  ani niya at umiling na lamang ako.

Why dont you just let her remember everything and lets think of a solution on how to kill those shits.  Huwag mo nang hintayin pa na kapatid mo mismo ang maka alam o maka alala ng lahat at kamuhian ka. You are the reason why she can't remember every thing, Think carefully bro Ciao. I said and leave his office.
