Korra's POV
It's been an hour since I kissed (Y/N) and it was dark out. Then Tarlock's assistant who's been sending gifts to me nonstop walked towards me. At first I thought he came to the island to drop off another extravagant gift but instead it was an invitation to a gala in my honor. Honestly I need something to distract me from the crazy relationship triangle going on in my head.
When Tenzin, his family and I walked into the venue it was packed with most likely a bunch of important people. Tarlock greeted me and introduced me to Hiroshi Sato, one of the greatest industrialists in Republic City. Mako and Bolin and a girl holding Mako's arm greeted me. I then learned that her name was Asami Sato Hiroshi's daughter and my mind slowly was being taken over by jealousy. "Lovely to meet you, Mako and (Y/N) have told me so much about you, speak of which, where is she Mako?"Great, the girl I kissed not too long ago and the guy I like are both here. "She's probably a little nervous she's never been to a party like this." "Really well, they haven't mentioned you at all, how did you all meet?" Bolin then chimed in on the conversation, "Asami crashed into her on her moped, then introduced her to Mako" "Wait, what is she ok?"I heard (Y/N)'s voice. "I'm fine, It's not that big of a deal." My jaw dropped when I saw her, she was wearing a light blue and white dress, completely opposite from my dark blue outfit. Her (H/L)(H/C) draped down and curled.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when Mako started speaking again. Him and Bolin started going on about how Mr. Sato agreed to sponsor our team. I tried my best to focus on other greetings and conversations but could help but feel conflicted between Mako and (Y/N). Chief Beifong was talking when (Y/N) came back to greet her. "Hi, Chief Beifong!" "Hello, (Y/N) are you staying out of trouble?" "Only some painting jobs here and there, and probending of course." "Good, Avatar Korra this party may be in your honor but you've done nothing to deserve this." "Lin! That was uncalled for."I was shocked when (Y/N) defended me given our very awkward situation "I am sorry but you can't go against me for stating the truth." Chief Beifong then walked away. "I'm sorry about that I'm sure she'll warm up to you eventually, and when Tarlock is done showing you around we should talk."(Y/N) suggested and honestly I wanted nothing more than to figure out where we were. "Yeah, sure."
Tarlock continued to introduce me to more and more people and every time in the corner of my eye I see Asami, (Y/N), and Mako enjoying themselves. I thought I would be fine with Asami and Mako but Asami seems to talk to (Y/N) easier than I can. Tarlock guided me down the stairs and reporters rushed to ask me questions and Tarlock encouraged me to answer.
(Y/N)'s POV
I saw reporters rush to Korra while I was laughing with Asami and Bolin, and the smile on my face turned into a frown of worry. I told Asami I would be right back and watched from a hidden distance as the reporters asked Korra questions. They started asking questions about Amon and Tarlock's taskforce and I started to feel the pressure they were putting on Korra. Then one of the reporters mentioned my old life. "Avatar Korra, why has Amon addressed not only you but Phantom, also known as (Y/N)?" I see Korra get offended by the mention of my name knowing now it was a sensitive subject. Then she finally spoke, "Phantom is no more, and Phantom and (Y/N) are two different people in my eyes. Phantom was created in a fit of survival because a city like this is unpredictable, and Amon is proof of this. (Y/N) is not involved with Amon; she is simply a girl trying to live in the city. I ask you to respect that." She said and the reporters started pushing her more. "Why are you backing away from this fight?" One reporter asked. "What would Avatar Aang do in this situation?" "Are you afraid of Amon?" And then Korra snapped. "I'm not afraid of anybody, if the city needs me then I'll join Tarlock's task force and help fight Amon." I was instantly disappointed to see Korra fell for Tarlock's trap.
The camera's were flashing and Korra's sky blue eyes filled with worry met my (Y/E/C) ones and I quickly looked down and walked to stand next to Asami and she then looked at me with worry. "(Y/N) what's wrong, you've been like this since Korra arrived?" "I'm fine Asami, it's just complicated between us right now." "Do you want to talk about it?" I nodded and me and Asami separated from Mako and Bolin into a more succled area away from the reporters, and Asami stood there ready to listen. "Ok...so after the tour of the factory I went over the Air Temple Island to talk to Korra about being Phantom, after I told her everything she..." "She, what (Y/N)?" "She...kissed me" I mumbled as my shy mindset took over me whenever Korra was in the room, I saw her look at me when I was about to repeat what I had mumbled, when Asami said she couldn't hear me. "She kissed me, and now I'm freaking out because I don't know what to do around her anymore and it doesn't help that Bolin has a thing for her too." "Ok, calm down, first I think you should talk to Bolin and tell him about your feelings just so it doesn't come as a surprise to him. Then talk to Korra and see where she stands in all of this." I nodded and hugged Asami. "Thank you for being my friend." "No problem (Y/N)"I took a deep breath and we walked back to where Mako and Bolin were standing and they looked at me with concern, I nodded signaling I was ok and we went back to enjoying the party.
