Chapter 13- Tumbling Down

Korra's POV

Me and Mako were scouting the city in equalist disguises looking out for (Y/N). Listening to Hiroshi's speech on me running away from this was ridiculous if anything I wanted to knock some heads and find (Y/N). Me, Mako, Bolin, and Asami have been hiding underground in the sewers. It was the only place the equalist didn't find. Mako and Asami seem to be growing apart, probably because of me and Mako getting closer. After eating and attempting to go to sleep Mako came up to me.

(Y/N)'s POV

I've been tracking down where the rest of Team Avatar is and I finally narrowed it down to the sewers. Amon's right hand told him about me helping Tenzin and his family and he had his men toture me to get some type of brainwashing effect but I never broke. I wanted to get back to my friends, at this point too many people have gotten hurt, I didn't care about my parents anymore. They left me to freeze in the south pole, little did they know that the southern water tribe is my home, Korra is my home. And I wouldn't have it any other way. As I snuck around I noticed Mako and Korra talking and out of jealousy I decided to eavesdrop. "And now I can't imagine my life without you in it." Mako said and I felt my stomach drop. "You're the most loyal, brave, and selfless person I've ever known." He said. "I think you're pretty incredible too, but you already knew that." I saw Mako try to lean in for a kiss but Korra said she needed sleep. Mako said the same and he left Korra. I sat there for a few minutes and walked off out of anger and sadness. I guess they don't need me anymore.

Asami's POV

It was the middle of the night and I heard footsteps, I slowly woke up to see the rest of my friends sound asleep. I saw I figure walk by and I chased after it on my own, I don't want the equalists to find us, because that means my father will force me to join him. I see the figure and charge at them, she must have sensed my coming and dodged it easily. They grabbed my arm and pushed me against the wall arms behind me. I heard a gasp and they let go.

"Asami I'm so sorry, I didn't know it was you." I heard (Y/N) and rushed to hug her as she took off her Phantom mask. "It's fine I thought you were one of the equalists." I told her and she tensed up in my embrace. "Yeah um I'm just gonna go now."She said and I stopped her from walking away.

"This is the only safe place now where are you going to go?" I asked her and she sighed. "Asami, I'm working for Amon, he has some info on my parents, I originally came here to go against him and come back and help. But I overheard some things and I guess Korra doesn't need me anymore." She said sadly and I was shocked, she was working for Amon since Korra came back, was she helping on Air Temple Island, but at the end of the day she still cared about us. I grabbed the sides of her face and looked her in her (Y/E/C) eyes.

"(Y/N) you are insane if you think Korra doesn't need you, despite her getting closer and closer to Mako, you are still on her mind 24/7. She worries and hopes you come back to us. I know you want to get that info on your family but you and I both know that Korra means more to you than the people that left you in the south pole." She sighed at my response and hugged me again, "Thank you for understanding" She said muffled in my shoulder. We pull away and we say our goodbyes but she promises to come back to help when the United Forces get to the city.

By time it was the morning we were outside looking out for the United Forces. Before we knew it mines that were in the water started damaging the ships. As Korra jumped into the water (Y/N) pulled up on her motorcycle and ran towards us, Mako and Bolin hugged her. "Where's Korra?" She asked looking out towards the water. "She jumped in to help." Bolin informed her and she ran back to her bike as planes that my father created flew above the ships dropping bombs. "Where are you going?" I ask her concerned. Korra would be devastated if anything happened to her. "To help." She simply said and drove off.
