Chapter 7

" Scottie and Kiara. You both will be attending the meeting with us. " Kelly , our direct supervisor ,informed .

" Woah , we get to see the Mr. Lacce. " Cara exclaimed.

Being the loyal fan of Brian she was excited to get a glimpse of him. Cara was actually a senior in the department for Scottie and me , but she was just three years older than us. And was my source of updates about my husband . Though no one knew that.

We gather the files required for the meeting and make way for the conference room. We get seated in our places and wait for Brian to come. After a good time for waiting about 10mins he comes. He walked in with aura emitting his confidence, his each stride made everyone in the room tense up.

The presentation starts. Kelly , was presenting it , trying her best not show that she was actually nervous on the inside. You can't blame her for being nervous , when the person she was presenting was someone to be scared of . The presentation was mostly about the plans for the new financial year. They were good.

"Mr.Lacce , do you have any suggestions or any adjustments to be made ? " Kelly asked.

But the man called ,wasnt responding . Everyone's attention turned towards him. What caught me off guard was that he was looking it my direction . Those green eyes , looking at me as if it was trying to understand something . I started back at them . Getting caught up in the moment. Don't blame me. Those green orbs weren't something you could resist looking away . But he was quick enough to break the stare by diverting his attention back to Kelly. A clueless look appeared on his face, but he covered it up to fast before anyone could see it.

" Mrs. Barb , please hand over the files of today's meeting to Liz , and I would like the minutes of today's meeting also to be attracted to them . "  He replied , though his words were polite but they oozed authority.

"Alright, Mr. Lacce." Kelly replied as she gathered all the files.

Brian walked out of the room , leaving everyone wondering why the all time taunting personality hadn't commented on today's meeting .

"Did you guys look at his cute clueless face ? Aww, it was so cute " Cara adored.

"Yea, but that was a first . Mr. Lance never spaces out" Kelly says as she makes her way to Liz to submit all the files .

He was cute , but what makes me curious was , was he looking at me ? I mean I did meet his eyes but what was going on that complex brain of his.

Skip after work coz why not .

My phone buzzed as I was seeking my things to call the day off.

The screen showed. I wonder why he is calling me so early today . So I pick up my phone only to hear a sadness dripping from his voice.

"Hey Kia , can we meet up ?" He asked . He sounds sad .

"Sure, but is everything ok?" I asked with concern.

" I'll tell you when we meet up. So my home ,is it ? " He asks.

"Yea. I will be there by 6. Is that ok with you ?"  I say as I glance at my watch to check the time .

"Yea. Them see you at my house" I say a bye and cut the call.

So I hire a cab to Trent's house , coz I can't wait to know what happened. I mean he is my ball of sunshine and hearing him all low and sad isn't something I can accept. I type the passcode in and walk into the house.

I find him all cuddled up in his blanket ,watching Netflix . He was stuffing himself up with strawberries. His coffee table filled up with all kinds of junk . A pure bliss , I say. But his cute face that usually adorned a box grin , was now having a sad smile as his grey eyes were now looking at me .

"You came ?" He asked, he looked as if he was about to cry.

"What happened ". I ask as I take a sit beside him and cuddle with him.

"I caught Charlie in action. With Loren. " His smile saddened deeper . Tears welled up in his almond shaped eyes.

Loren. A common classmate of ours , though not someone I liked much but never hated too. She works with Charlie , but who knew they would get behind Trent's back. Being cheated on was one of the horrible feeling one could experience. And being in a homosexual relation has always made Trent insecure ,coz he was bent as hell while Charlie was straight as a pole.

"That jerk . Let's get you really handsome guy and make him burn with jealousy and regret .hmph "  I said as I try to comfort him and it was something I meant too. Trent chuckles at this and nods his head agreeing with me .

"Let's both binge watch a series and eat food as if there is no tomorrow. You in ?"  I say.

"Shouldn't you inform Brian about you staying over ?" He asks .

"I will inform Annie. I don't even have his number." I say.

We both decided on watching Descendants of the Sun. Coz who doesn't like Song Joongi. It's a pretty interesting series . And so I spent my night with Trent .
