Chapter 8

"Cara, can stop giving me those looks . " I say for the nth time .

So the thing is , Cara has been giving me these teasing looks as I came to work in my yesterday's clothes . So she assumed on her own that I had a fling with some random dude  yesterday, which honestly wasn't the case.

Small story short of why I came like this was me waking up late . Coz neither was Trent or me a morning person so none of us woke up and ended up late that I couldn't even stop by home to change into a new pair. Though I did borrow a shower at Trent's place.

Last night was so tiring yet fun. Like we both ended up staying till almost dawn trying to complete a kdrama. And Trent kept going on and on of why the hero had a sad ending . Like we were watching ' Autumn in my heart'. Pretty sappy. But he wanted to cry out so we decided to go with that. It was fun to hear out all his silly nags.

"I'm blessed. I get to see Brian early in the morning. " Cara says as she dreamily looks at a fuming Brian walk by. 

He was walking towards to elevator with a 'don't mess with me' face. Man, blame those long legs of his ,coz he was basically striding off , while poor Liz had a tough time keeping up with his pace. What's got him all moody so early in the morning.

"Let's get started guys ,I don't wanna hear Kelly shouting at us for starting work late." Scottie announces as he slings his arms around Cara and me. While dragging us along with him .

We settle down in our alotted desks and get started with the work. I had to review few documents related to the new project for the restaurant setup. So the company was like trying to set up a restaurant in  Lyon , but was facing legal trouble about the land. Kelly and I have like been trying our best to negotiate with the land owner for almost a week to withdraw his clauses but that man didn't back down at all.

'You could've woken me up when you left. I could've drived you back home and to work. '

The message read.

Kiara🐥❤️
' I couldn't wake you up when you slept so peaceful and adorably .'

Trent 🐶❤️
' yea , whatever makes your day'

I smile looking at my phone. I feel a tap on me shoulders, so I turn to see Brian standing right behind me with his giant structure towering me. His eyes lit up with anger and his uneven breathings hinted that he would explode any time soon. He took a hold of my wrist and dragged me behind him.

His hold was so firm that I struggled to free my wrist. Oh boy , it sure is gonna leave a bruise. So I stopped struggling not wanting hurt my wrist any further and just let him drag me. And the moment he realised I wasn't struggling or trying to put to a fight, he loosened his grip.

He made his way to his office . Shocking Liz along the way as it wasn't normal for anyone to see a disturbed and angry Brian . He has always been the calm and patient one. Good thing I did my own research . He shuts the door behind us and and traps me between him and the wall.

Classic. Kabedon.

Kiara , honey, concentrate . This isn't the time for you to go into you 2d world .

So back to the present . His grip on my wrist tightens as I look into his now turned dark green eyes which held a strong emotion of anger. His eyes are the biggest give away of his emotions .
I remain unfazed. Though that wasn't exactly how I was feeling on the inside .

I was panicking on the inside . I don't know why I was dragged here . Neither had a clue of why Brian was angry . But what I know for sure is that his anger sure did have something to do with me . 

"Where the hell were you yesterday ?" He asks with his clenched jaw.

"I was at Trent's place ."  I say trying to be as calm as I could be .

"Tell me Kiara , my wife doesn't come home for the night , doesn't even inform me and spends the night a guys home . And the next day I smell a guy's scent on her . What am I supposed to do ?!" His voice increasing with each sentence he utters.

The panic inside me just keeps rising seeing how angry he was. He looked scary . You can handle this Kiara. I affirm myself.

"Brian , I-I.." he cuts me off and continues.

"Kiara Lacce , remember you are my wife and I don't tolerate unfaithfulness .  You get that ?! " He shouts.

" Enough with your accusations, Brian . I did spend the nigh out , but that doesn't mean I'm unfaithful . Though this may be a loveless marriage but I would never stoop low to be insincere to any of my relations whether I like it or not . "  I boldly say.

He was about to say something but I cut him off .

" And the thing about me not informing you , I never had your number. And it's not my fault. It was your fault for never trying to hold a conversation with me. Even if I wanted to ask you for your number , you weren't there for me to ask. So quit with  blaming me . "

" And yea , the guy I spent the night with is a gay and my childhood friend who needed me . And I don't think you have any damn right to question me when you don't give a damn about our marriage." I say trying my best to contain my tears in.

I had the worst habit of crying when I'm frustrated or feel wrongly accused . And this was one of those days.

"Listen carefully, Brian . I can tolerate your lack of attention towards me , but disrespect isn't one of the things I tolerate. Get it ?"  I try challenging him.

His grip on me losses as he looked stunned at my outburst. Taking that as a chance to escape, I bolt out of the room before he could stop me .

I make way to the restroom so that I could let out my tears and calm myself. You did well ,honey. You can't just let anyone falsely accuse you for stuff you never did. He better get the thing that I wasn't a weak girl that he could trample.

Hey !!! So I updated . What do you think guys ??  Do you think Brian is gonna stay calm after kiara's outburst or just get back at her for it???
