Chapter 4

He carried me to the kitchen and set me down on the counter whilst he went to the over and got the cookies out.

Paige-"they smell good!"
Quinton-"yep and the others can't take credit this time" he says referring back to when we all made cakes, well mainly me and Quinton and they took all the credit. I giggled at him as he placed them on a plate and putting two on a separate plate.

Quinton-"for you" he said lifting the plate with two cookies on. I took one and he took the other and both took a bite.
Paige-"not bad" I said after I swallowed the mouthful I had. Before we knew it all the others crowed into the kitchen to try the cookies.

Kio-"okay but these are actually really good"
Blake-"true" he said with a mouthful of  crumbs.
I laughed as we all sat around the kitchen eating them that was till my phone started to buzz. I looked down to masons contact texting me but I put my phone on silent. Mads noticed something was off and came over to me.

Mads-"what's up"
Paige-"nothing I'm fine why?"
Mads-"you seem stressed after looking at your phone. Is everything okay?"
Paige-"perfectly fine I just need to take a call." She nodded and went back over to the others as I left the room and phoned mason up.

Paige-"hey what's up?"
Mason-"why did you ignore my texts?"
Paige-"it was easier to phone plus I'm at someone's house"
Mason-"your at there house!"
Paige-"huh I'm at someone's house"
Mason-"i can't belobe your at their fucking house again!"
Paige-"okay yeah I am. I'm sorry I didn't tell you but-"
Mason-"come over to mine"
Paige-"what now I've only been here for an hour and a half"
Mason-"yeah come back over now"
Paige-"okay on my way" I sighed as I clicked of my phone and went back into the kitchen to see all my friends happy and joking around. I want to stay here with them but I can't I said I would go to his so I have to.

Paige-"erm guys" I said causing them to all turn around and give me their attention.
Paige-"I have to go"
Jaden-"but you just got here"
Noah-"why do you have to go"
Griffin-"stay longer please"
Blake-"we missed you"
Josh-"why all of a sudden"
Bryce-"why have you been so distant lately"
Kio-"what's going on"
Anthony-"is everything okay"
Mads-"is it about the phone call"

I couldn't think straight having so many questions asked all at once stressed me out made me feel like I was trapped in a small room. I couldn't even answer them cause I didn't know what to say myself. I didn't want to go yet but my boyfriend needs me. All my thought were piling up and my breath had started to quicken. That was until Quinton stepped in.

Quinton-"guys stop your stressing her out. She would tell us if there was a problem" thats it though I haven't told them and I can't tell them.
Quinton-"give her a break and let her calm down" he came to my side and led us out of the room.

Quinton-"calm down tiny."
I looked up to him smiling at me and I smiled back. He remembered my nickname. I have always been the smallest ever since we all became friends and he used to call me tiny all the time but he stopped once I started going out with mason and I never knew why. A few minutes later I was back to my normal self.
Paige-"thanks q I don't know what happened"
Quinton-"it's fine." He led me too the door but before I could leave the others came from the kitchen.

Mads-"we're sorry p. Please forgive me mousey"
Paige-"wasn't going to hold it against you bee."
All the nicknames are coming out now i see. Me and mads gave each other nicknames when we first became friends just cause we were bored and it stuck since then.

Paige-"I have to go to masons don't know if I will be back to night"
Mads-"you stayed last night I thought tonight was our girls night"
Shit I forgot about that. I already told her I couldn't do it for the past two weeks.
Paige-"oh yeah okay i will be home for then" I said hugging her before exiting the house. I have to be back for mads, she was my first friend out here and always stood by me and I have been a super shitty friend these past few weeks.

I parked up outside the apartments and ran up to his he was already standing in the door way.

Mason-"took you long enough."
Paige-"sorry I came as quick as I could"
Mason-"yeah whatever. Come on" he said grabbing my wrist and pushing me inside again.
Mason-"why did you lie to me"
Paige-"i didn't"
Mason-"you said you were seeing mads"
Paige-"I did. and I also went to see my other friends"
Mason-"bullshit"
Paige-"it's not mason."
Mason-"you must really not want to be with me"
Paige-"I do honestly I do"
Mason-"you couldn't do better than me. You know that right" he said coming closer to me.
Paige-"I know." I said tears slowly started to drip down my face.
Mason-"see you think that your to good for me" he stepped closer to me again and it felt like he was towering over me making me feel small.
Mason-"maybe you should start thinking more" I nodded my head hoping he would back away but instead he grabbed a hold of my hair.
Mason-"answer me when I'm talking to you"
Paige-"yes mason" he let go of my hair and I fell too the ground. He kicked me in the stomach winding me before going of to the other room.

It took me a few minutes to get my breathing back to normal and to stand up. Once I had though I left a note for mason telling him I went back to my apartment and got into my car. I looked at myself in the car mirror and broke down but I had to quickly wipe away my tears when I realised some of my makeup was coming of covering the mark from the other day. The drive home felt short but I didn't want it to i just wanted to be on my own for a while and be sad but I'm home putting on a fake smile so mads doesn't worry about me.
