So, I was told to sweep the whole compound( not that I know why but I feel like I'm in trouble, also this is no piece of cake). I had already gone halfway when my mum walks out the front door stretching her neck from side to side to see if I was sweeping well. Then she heads to my direction.
Mum: See that place in front* she uses her hand to point to a place I've swept already.
Me: *already dripping wet with sweat * I've swept there.Mum please give me a break I need to catch my breath.
I lean against a tree when my mum comes closer saying........
Mum: You are tired? How long have you been sweeping that you want a break? Hehehe, children of nowadays are so lazy. Common compound I told you to sweep minutes ago,you haven't gone far. Let me tell you something, when I was your age I would wake up early in the morning sweep the compound, wake and bathe my younger ones,do all the chores assigned to me and walk to school. Its not this one that your parents would pick you up and drop you off at school, you walk to and from school. Hmmm my school was a 3 kilometres walk from my house back then but if I'm to tell you to buy me something few bus stops away you always look like you've gone for a marathon.
Me: Mum,its because of the depleting ozone layer*trying to sound convincing*
Mum: Ozone layer hmmn? *she heads back to the house* uhuh hurry up with that you still have to make lunch and don't forget to rearrange the store,I don't like how it looks.Jesus help me,if I'm told what I did wrong I honestly would apologise but its as though I'm been punished for an unknown offense plus extra, one story that I still don't know if its was said to have an effect on me or was just said.
I honestly do not like stories that begin with "when I was your age"
