The moment the three of us got into David's blue Jeep that had no doors, everything felt different. I know my hair was blowing in the winds but my shoulders felt light. I smiled at Kenny who was too busy with protecting the bird to notice that I was smiling at both of them.
"Maybe she can keep the bird" David spoke and I looked over at him. "Its going to need a nurse for awhile so I dont see an issue" He glanced over at me then his eyes went back on the road.
"I am okay with that. It can probably teach her some responsibility" I shrugged.
"She is gonna need that in order to take care of her horse back home" Home? I liked the thought of that but we didnt share the same home. Within this moment, we did feel like a family.
"You actually got her a horse?"
"Yeah, she wanted it and I got it." I looked over at him.
"So whatever she wants you would get it for her?" He glanced over at me but ended up smiling when he looked back at the road.
"Are you testing my parenting?" I shrugged as I continued to look at him. "I am a good dad and I would like to spoil my daughter but as along as she is responsible".
"Uncle David, you have a daughter?" Thank God, David could drive better than me because I slammed my imaginary brakes. I didnt look at Kenny but kept my eyes on the road.
I could hear the hesitation in David's voice but I dont know how to answer her either."When I get my daughter, my wish is to spoil her" I glanced over at him.
"I'll definitely teach her how to ride a horse and I'll show her all of the trophies you have at your house especially your movie room" If only she knew that she was his daughter. I could hear the happiness in her voice as she continued to tell us all the things she would do with her uncle's daughter.

We were sitting in the waiting room with Kenny sitting down the between of us. She was holding both of our hands as she expressed that she was nervous for the birdie. She had David thinking about a name for the bird.
".....can we get something to eat after we get the birdie back?" She was looking at me.
"Sure" David answered as the Vet approached us with the box that Kenny gave to her.
"How is he?" Kenny already stood from the chair and approached the vet.
"He is doing better now. Just needs a little taking care of" We walked over to where Kenny met the Vet. "Is the bird, yours?" The Vet looked at Kenny who turned to look at us both. She didnt have to use the soft pleading eyes with us because David was going to say yes either way.
We finally left the Vet and surprisingly found a pet store where David decided to buy everything that Kenny would need in order to take care of her new pet. And when I say Kenny taking care of the bird, I really meant waking me up everytime something didnt look or go as she wanted it to.
"You are going to spoil her" I helped David pack everything into the jeep as Kenny stood to the side with the box.
"Its a bird and I'll be here to help" He walked over to Kenny as I roll my eyes. "There should be a diner here too. Hopefully, its pet friendly" He helped Kenny into the jeep before handing her the box again. I climbed in but made sure that Kenny was strapped in properly.

Thankfully, the diner was pet friendly. Well solely on the basis that it was David. Kenny and I were seated but David had to speak with some of his local fans first.
"Mommy, Uncle David is really a nice guy" Kenny smiled at me as the waitress came over.
"Ready to order?" She smiled at us.
I glanced over at the man who was at the centre of attention for everyone in here. "Yes, we'll just have pancakes and eggs but I also saw that you have blueberry, can they have blue berry pancakes" David was not about to finish talking for now. "We'll also have OJ and maybe a cup of coffee".
The waitress left us and my eyes were glued to how David laughed with the older people and also snapped a few photos with the kids that were in the diner.
"Candice would have been over there with him too. Mommy, why dont you take pictures with Uncle David?" When I looked at Kenny, she was already staring at me.
"Well...I am not a picture type of girl".
"But Mommy, you are so pretty" I reached over the table and squeezed her cheek before there was a loud shouting. When I looked up David was making his way over.
"They are just celebrating" He smiled at us before taking a seat beside Kenny. I took the bird box up and placed it on the table beside me. I saw Kenny frown but David quickly got her chatting about what just happened.
The food didn't take long to come and I watched as David sat everything up for Kenny. I didnt even have to tuck a napkin in her shirt. "Wanna taste my pancake?" He was busy cutting a piece of the pancake.
"Mommy ordered us the same thing but I'll still take it" I chuckled alittle because he still gave her the piece of pancake.
I reached up to touch my cheek as I felt something wet rolling down. I wiped the single tear that escaped my eye before sipping some of the OJ.
"You should move in with me" I almost choked but luckily I didnt mess the table up nor myself. I looked up at David who was now looking at me.
"Are you crazy? She is sitting right there and she listens to everything we talk about" I placed the cup on the table.
"Well dont let me ask again. If she ask, it will be an unfair fight for you atleast." He was smiling at me but I shook my head and went to cut a piece of the pancake. "Think about it. A little family".
"You keep forgetting that you are still engaged" I looked at Kenny who luckily again was focused on eating. I looked back at David who was still staring at me.
"And I told you to let me fix it! Now would you move in with me?"
