Riley's POV
Next day.....
"Come on Kenny! Leave Uncle David alone for a minute and help me take everything to the car" She was already out the bed room door. I sighed. This little girl was no longer listening to me at all. She was so taken up with David that she didnt even sleep with me last night.
After David came back yesterday, I was basically on my own. They spent the rest of the day playing in the lake, watching movies, making dinner and I could have sworn I saw her helping David pack his things away too. But she didn't even look at me when I asked her to help me pack her stuff.
This man was winning over our little girl and I was not about to stand between them. I have come to understand that she is going to want to know eventually and maybe allowing her to be with him will help. And telling her sooner rather than later is probably the best decision."Need help!" There was a knock at the bedroom door and Micheal appeared. From the conversation at dinner, he was going to drop us off at the airport. They agreed to stay here for another week until coming to David's place for the wedding. The conversation was more between David and his dad while my mother and I just ate our food and joined in whenever it seemed fit.
"Sure, Kenny is ignoring me." We laughed as Michael got my suitcases and I carried Kenny's bags. I could hear Kenny's laughter as I came down the stairs. David was carrying Kenny on his back into the kitchen.
I rolled my eyes but continued outside to the car and watched Michael pack our stuff inside. David's bags were already inside the car and the moment Micheal closed the trunk door, Kenny's laughter was now getting louder.
I watched as he helped her off his back and that's when she ran over to me. "Mommy, he is gonna take us to the fair on Tuesday. I am so excited" She took my hand into hers and smiled at me."The Tuesday before the wedding?" I questioned.
"Mommy, you are gonna love it there. It's so big and when you go outside in the mornings, you can hear the birds." I smiled at her and she started walking over to where David was talking to Michael. She was still holding onto my hand when she took hold of David's. He looked down at her and smiled but I caught the surprise in his eyes as his gaze met mine.
We havent spoken since our little disagreement on the porch but I gave him a smile which he returned.
That was exactly the problem.
I was going to love every single moment with her and David.***
There was not many goodbyes for me. As I was focused on the body guards that met us at the airport Micheal just hugged me while Mom spoke to David and Kenny. Afterwards, surprisingly Kenny came and took my hand as we were led to David's jet.
I have never been on a private jet before. And I hated plane rides but Kenny, she didnt mind it at it; she just loved see the clouds up close and how small everything looked below.Kenny released my hand and started making her way up the steps. But I stopped walking as I admired the jet. Well I just wanted to enjoy every moment before my organs felt like they were falling out.
"Scared?" I flinched alittle as David spoke from over my shoulder. I shook my head before getting myself inside.
My eyes ran over the interior which seem to be a mixture of white and gold. But I couldn't ignore the small screams that came from Kenny. She was already seated but she was hugging a purple unicorn. "Mommy! Look!" I walked over to her and sat in the chair that was directly in front of her.
"Its beautiful" I smiled at her.
"Are you sure you wanna sit there?" David was now sitting in the chair across from me. "I would recommend this seat" He gestured to chair in front of him.
