I walked around the corner of the hall in my new uniform for school. I was wearing a plaid red skirt with a black top, both laced with the school's logo.
I continued to walk until I reached my first class of the day, chemistry. I arrived late to my first class of the day. I was still unpacking at my new dorm room late last night and I had overslept through the alarm.
How bad could it be to be late? I was always late to classes in my previous school.
I entered the class without knocking just from the sense of habit, when I realized the teacher was giving me a dirty look on her face. I bowed my head quickly to avoid eye contact and apologized to the teacher.
"Sit down girl, next time you're late, you will be sent to the principals office." She took a piece of chalk and wrote my name in the corner of her board. There was a name above mine, Casper.
I quickly hovered to an empty seat and set my bag down on the ground. I took out a pen and my notebook, waiting for the teacher to move on with her lesson.
Students whispered around me, giving me an odd glance once every while. I wasn't stupid. I knew they were talking about me. A girl behind me giggled to her friend, this time I could hear completely what they were saying.
"They say she encouraged the boy to kill everyone except her."
"Poor guy, I saw a video online of him confessing before killing himself."
"This girl better not spread her plague in this school either."
"Yeah she's dangerous."
I rolled my eyes at the comments. I felt incredibly left out.
"Kapriella! Your eyes must be focused on me when I'm taking to you!" The teacher yelled. The classroom phone started ringing. She immediately went out into the hall to answer it.
The embarrassment was real. The whole room was just staring at me as if I killed someone. A girl beside me tapped my shoulder to get my attention.
"It's okay. They will soon forget about the rumours." She comforted me. She was a beautiful girl that wore fancy pairs of glasses. She had cute freckles that completed her look. "What's your name?"
