"Hello?" A manly voice whispered into my ear. My eyes opened quickly. My arms went to hit the stranger but I missed it.

I looked around at the endless grass field. It felt like I was living one of my dreams where I'd escape to have some peace and quiet. There was a tree with a swing attached. I stood up curiously to head in its direction. I sat on the swing and let my feet hang in the air. The breeze lifted a couple of strands of my hair. I had a summer dress on. It was the type of dress that my mother could never afford.

"Am I dead?" I whispered. "Is this what death feels like?"

I had a strong feeling that I was dead. A type of feeling that you would not miss. I didn't know how I died or why, but I knew I did. I felt it.

It felt so good to be here.

"Yes."  A voice popped out from behind the tree. A young good-looking man stepped in front of her.

The aura of the man made me feel safe and someone I could trust. I did not know why I felt this way. I never easily trusted people. Yet with this man I knew I could ask anything and depend on him more than I've ever depended on anyone.

"Am I in heaven?"

"Not exactly."

"Who are you?" I asked getting off the swing.

"Angel Gabriel, you've heard of me in many, many books." He smiled widely. "However, time is running out quick. I need to tell you a few things. Are you okay to hear them?"

I curiously tilted my head as I sat on the grassy fields. "I'm not ready to die."  I told him straight-up. "I haven't told my parents a goodbye. I can't leave them until I have that chance."

I was stubborn, but I needed just one thing before I completely leave the world.

"I have a deal for you. You will like it."

"Let me hear it."

"I have a request. I need to send you back to earth to complete a supernatural task for me."

"Say, what now?" I gulped before asking the next question.

"I'm bringing you back to life. Like I said I'm running on a tight schedule, love. I need to you to make the choice, do you want another chance at life?"

"I-I don't know." I looked around at the peaceful setting. I wanted to stay here forever.

However, I had a mother back home that needed me. That was all it took to convince me.

"If I agree with you, what will my task be? And what do you mean a supernatural task?"

"I'll reveal it to you when the time is right." The angel looked at the sky as if he could tell the time. His facial expressions changed to unease. "Is it a yes or no?"

"Yes, but how-." My voice was cut of by pitch darkness as if I was in deep slumber.

Voices around me moved around frantically. I felt hands pushing against my chest, which I assumed to be CPR. I heard nurses yelling to each other.

A fish of air flew through my mouth as I gasped for air. My eyes flew open, but everything was blurry. As soon as my eyes opened, they closed just as fast. I heard cheers in the hospital room before I fell back into my deep sleep.

I felt all the pain in my body. Especially the gun wound. It stung to clench my tummy. My eyes remained closed but I heard my parents talking to me. Surprisingly my fathers voice brought a wave of emotion that I had suppressed from the years. My heart shattered at the cries from my mother.

This really got me thinking. Did I really meet the angel? Was it all a dream? Did Angel Gabriel really exist?
