Four months have passed by. Nelly and I are completely settled into our new place. Mitchell and I were able to sell the house and have completed our divorce. I am getting used to being alone and am starting to enjoy it. Mitchell stops by every once in a while to walk Nelly.

Work is going well. A few big projects have kept all of us busy around the office not allowing much time for a life outside of work. I have been seeing a therapist on my own and have started to process the past few months. Moving on from my divorce and starting a new life wasn't easy but I have learned a lot about myself. I have been focused on myself which has led to better focus on my work.

"Hurry up Adrianna. I don't want to be too late." I hear Deena call to me from the living room. Deena is my best friend from college. She is staying with me for a few weeks while she is on summer break from teaching. Ever since she heard about my divorce she has been checking in on me a lot like I am going to have a breakdown at any minute. I've tried to explain to her that I am okay but she had to see for herself.

"Ten more minutes Deena. I haven't been out in a long time. I especially haven't been out while I am single. I want to make sure I look good." Ten minutes later I enter the living room in a nude off the shoulder form fitted dress that hugs my curves just right with black strappy high heels. My hair lays loose over my shoulders and my makeup is light with winged liner and bright red lips.

"Damn girl!! You really are trying to get laid tonight aren't you?" I blush. "I'm not sure I am ready for that yet." "What do you mean? You have been divorced for two months and your marriage was falling apart long before that. Your fling with Christian ended and I haven't even heard you talk about sleeping with anyone."

"Well ironically our marriage ended because we weren't having sex but since I've been single I haven't thought about it. I haven't met anyone that I wanted to have that type of connection with."

"Honey it doesn't matter if you have a connection. You are single. Let go and have a one night stand."

"Deena! Are you sure you should be teaching little kids?"

She laughs "Oh hush. You know I don't speak to them like that!"

"I would hope not. I promise to have an open mind tonight."

"Thank you! Now get your fine ass in the car and let's go."

Once inside the bar I notice how packed it is.

"This is so not my scene." I say to her.

"Yes I know that's why I brought you here. You need to get drunk and laid and this is the perfect place to do it."

I roll my eyes and make my way over to the bar.

"2 shots of tequila and 2 jack and cokes please."

The bartender smiles as Deena joins me at the bar.

"Cheers." I turn to her and down my shot!

Two men come up to the bar and offer to buy us more shots. I turn them down not wanting to be tied down to these two men we just met. Deena looks at me "Hey they were cute. Why did you turn them down?" "Too young!" "Oh my Adrianna you act like you are 50." "Well I am definitely not 22 anymore. If you liked them so much you should have talked to them." "This isn't about me."

I roll my eyes again. Seems I picked up this habit in her presence. I turn to the bartender. "2 more tequila shots please."

"Tequila huh? That's new." I hear a familiar voice say as I turn to the sound.

"Mitchell. What are you doing here? This doesn't seem like your scene."

"It's not. I was invited out by a client."

Just as I am about to respond a blonde woman comes over who I now recognize as Julie. "Mitchell honey, there you are, I was looking for you" as she places her arms around his neck.

My eyebrows raise at the sight before me. I'm sure Julie couldn't wait to get her hands on Mitchell as soon as our divorce went through.

She turns to me with a fake smile "Oh hi Adrianna. So funny seeing you here. I didn't think this was your thing."

"An old friend of mine is visiting and she wanted to get out and let loose so here we are."

Mitchell gets up and excuses himself to use the restroom. I can tell he is drunk as he is stumbling just a bit.

"Adrianna I hope you don't hate me. I know it must be weird seeing us in public together like this after everything."

I raise my brows for the second time in a minute. "What do you mean by everything?"

"Well you know the incident that happened a couple of years ago between Mitchell and I and now you are divorced and here we are together. I don't want you to get the wrong idea and assume it continued or anything."

"Excuse me? The incident?"

She looks at me and smiles "Yeah. You know where Mitchell and I made out and I gave him a blowjob at the Halloween party. I thought you knew about that."

I smile at her not wanting to show the rage that was building up in me after a few tequila shots. "Oh that incident. We're divorced now so it's really not any of my business who he is seeing. If you will excuse me I need to go find Deena."

I turn and the tears threaten to fall. I see Mitchell coming back from the bathroom and I walk up to him "You fucking asshole." He looks confused "What? What is wrong Adrianna." "Oh nothing... besides that fact that Julie over there told me about a little incident between the two of you from a Halloween party two years ago. For months you blamed me for having an affair and made me feel awful about it all the while you were hiding this from me."

"It's not like I slept with her Adrianna. You were having an affair behind my back. Hell, you started falling in love with someone else. It was just a blowjob."

"Just a blowjob? You wouldn't even let me give them to you for the last year of our marriage."

"I know. I felt guilty, okay? I felt guilty about what happened that every time you wanted to sleep with me I pushed you away. Is that what you wanted to hear from me?"

"All I ever wanted was you Mitchell.. You drove me away. Away from our happy life for what? A mindless blowjob. If you had just told me about it."

"Told you and then what? You would magically forgive me and we would move on? No we would've been divorced."

"Well you didn't even give me a chance to see if I could forgive you and we ended up divorced anyways." At this point the tears are streaming down my face. I couldn't hold in the emotions any longer. They needed to be free.

I turn and run to the bathroom as Mitchell calls out behind me "Adrianna please wait."

As I sprint towards the bathroom I bump into a hard chest "Oh I am so sorry, excuse me." I hear a deep chuckle "Adrianna?" I freeze "Christian?"
