Arriving home, I find Mitchell sitting at the kitchen island with his laptop finishing up some work. "How was the park?" A wave of nausea came over me as the guilt hit. "It was fun. Nelly had a great time. How was work?" "It was good. Great actually. We picked up a high-profile case so it is going to take up most of my time over the next few months." He says not even looking up from his computer. "How about you? How was your workday?" "It was good. The office got a makeover while we were gone last week. Christian and I got a new large office that we are sharing and everyone seems to love the new renovations." "That's great honey." He replied. I am not sure he was even listening. "Well I am going to head upstairs and shower. Meet me in the living room in an hour?" "Sure babe."

I head upstairs with Nelly not too far behind me. She plops down on her dog bed as I head into the bathroom. Taking my time in the shower I think about the events of the past week. Before I can dwell on it I shake the thoughts out of my head before drying off and slipping into my pajamas. After brushing my teeth and finishing my skin care routine I go to the living room to wait for Mitchell. He strolls in with two glasses of wine and sits down next to me to watch some TV. "Thank you." He smiles and nods.

We lay there enjoying our current favorite show Ozark for a couple of hours before he turns the TV off. "Ready for bed?" I smile. "Yes I will take Nelly out and be up shortly."

Heading into the bedroom I see that Mitchell is still up reading. Getting on the bed I crawl over to him and place my legs to each side of his waist, straddling him beneath me. He sets his book down "What are you doing?" I smile and place a kiss to his lips, nudging his bottom lip with my tongue so I can slip it inside. He is reluctant at first but returns my kiss with a forgotten passion. I take this as encouragement and start grinding my hips against his.

Tensing suddenly, he breaks the kiss and slides his hands down my arms. "Adrianna." I pull back searching his eyes. He smiles "Not tonight. It has been a long day and I have an early morning." "Mitchell is has been over a year since we were intimate. How many more are you planning on making me wait?" "You know how busy I am Adrianna. I just do not have time to worry about that right now. Work has been busy and if I want to keep building a good reputation for the firm then it needs all of my attention." "I am your wife Mitchell. I need your attention too." "You are being selfish Adrianna. I am trying to provide a good life for our future." I roll off his lap and slide out of the bed. "Adrianna" he calls out as I shut the bedroom door behind me.

I tossed and turned all night long in the guest bed. My brain just would not shut off. Was I missing something? Did he not love me anymore? Did he even find me attractive anymore? Do I stay married? Christian. Guilt. Blue Eyes. My eyes shot open, taking the pillow next to me I place it over my head and scream at the top of my lungs!

Light was finally shining through the window and I decided to get up before my alarm went off. I headed downstairs and poured myself a cup of coffee from the pot that Mitchell had made before he left for work. Nelly came trotting down the stairs when I called her name, ready for some outside play time.

After thirty minutes of running around and throwing the ball, I fed her breakfast and headed back upstairs to get ready for work.

Heading into the office early as usual I notice Christian's car is already in the parking lot. I smile to myself and head up to our floor. There he was, sitting at his desk with his sleeves rolled up already engrossed in today's workload. "You're here early." I called out. He looks up and smiles "I wanted to get started early so we could actually have lunch today." I smile back "You are too sweet."

I sit down at my desk and get started. After about an hour I hear a knock on the door and see a delivery man holding flowers. "Adrianna Jones?" "Yes that's me." "I have a delivery from you." I get up to take the flowers and thank him. Christian looks up from his work "Mitchell?" I look at the card. Sorry about last night. - Mitchell. I look up at him. "Yes. We had a disagreement last night." He frowns "Want to talk about it?" "No I am okay. Thank you." I place the vase on my desk and get back to work.
