One Week Away

Chapter 26

"I don't want you to go." I pouted my lip and watched Deena pack her bags. "I know. I loved staying with you these last few weeks." "You know you can visit me anytime. Any break you have." "And you can come visit me too. You and Christian both." My face flushed as I smiled at her.

"Have you told him yet?" "Told him what?" She squinted her eyes at me. "That you love him." I shook my head no and nervously looked around the room. "What are you waiting for Adrianna?" "I'm scared." She rolled her eyes "Not this again!" "I can't help it. Look at how my last relationship went and we work together. If this ends badly I will have to quit my job." "Christian isn't the same person and neither are you. You worked through it before. He wouldn't hurt you and you need to stop acting like he will."

My eyes widened as Deena spoke her truths to me. She was right but hearing someone say it so bluntly smacked me across the face. I was about to defend myself further until we were interrupted by the doorbell.

I left Deena to pack and answered the door. "Hi Handsome!" He leaned in for a kiss. "Hi babe. You guys ready to go?" "Almost I think she has a few more things to pack up." "You okay? You look stressed." I smiled at his sweet concern. "I'm okay. Just a little sad about Deena."

"Well maybe I can take your mind off of it with a date?" "Like an official one?" He smirked. "Yes an official date." "Okay I can do that."

Deena enters the room "Well I'm ready to go." Christian walks over and grabs her things before taking them to the car. I grabbed her hand and we walked side by side to the car. "I'm going to miss you!" "I will miss you too and you need to tell him!" I rolled my eyes. "I'm going too!" I shouted a little too loud. Christian looked up from where he was loading bags into the car. "Going to what?" Feeling the heat rising to my face I quickly thought of an excuse. "Go visit Deena sometime. She invited me. Well she invited us actually."

Deena pinched my fingers at my stubbornness. "Yes I would love to have the two of you." Christian smiled at her "I would love that." "Then it's settled. Just let me know when the two of you are free and let's do it!"

Pulling up to the airport Christian got out and retrieved Deena's bags for her. We both gave her hugs goodbye and wished her a safe flight home. I was going to miss having her around.

"So where are we going on this little date?" "It's a surprise." "Am I dressed okay? Will we be outside or inside or?" "Adrianna. I am not going to tell you. You're dressed fine and we're going right now." "Now? What about Nelly?" "She'll be fine. We won't be gone that long." "Okay I'll stop now." He smiled and turned up the music before turning onto the highway.

After driving for a little while Christian pulled up to a go kart track. I turn to him with raised brows "We're racing go karts?" "Yeah we need a little fun to cheer you up!" "Okay mister. But just be prepared to lose!" He chuckles and grabs my hand. "How about a friendly bet?" "Hmm what do you have in mind?"

Smiling with a cocky grin "If I win you have to give me road head on the way home." A laugh escaped my serious face. "And if I win?" "If you win I'll eat you out in the backseat before we go home." I pretend to ponder on his idea. "Okay... Fine! Be prepared to get on your knees because I am going to beat you!" "I like cocky Adrianna."

We get inside and grab a bite of food before getting to the main event. "Ready to get your ass whooped?" "In your dreams pretty boy!" We take the safety course and get strapped into our cars. I refuse to look at Christian letting him know I mean business! The red light turns to green and I push the gas pedal to the floor. We head out onto the track and I am ahead of him! A good start is important!
