CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO

"Do you really wanna go there?"

 ***

 "I'm gonna ask again."

The air in the little bunker we were gathered in was smothering, but my glare didn't waver, even if this was the ten-thousandth time I have questioned this man, "where did you get the watch."

"Chomouda are Yu kom Skaikru?" Was the response I got, and I growled, balling my fists as Phia stepped forward from her spot leaning lazily against the wall.

"Ai owe emo." She drawled, the strange language sounding like gibberish to my ears. I made a pact the first time I questioned this Grounder that I would learn their language eventually. It was driving me crazy not knowing what to say.

"Yu are a natrona." His tone became harsh, but Phia didn't falter.

"Perhaps Ai laik, ba Yu better tell Nataniel chit he gaf in gon get in."

The man sighed deeply, hanging his head. When he looked back up at me, his one eye was smoldering, and his lips were drawn into a tight line. "I told you, I found it outside of your camp."

"That's bullshit," I leaned closer hearing Finn's sounds of repulse. I raised the watch that was gripped in my hand right in front of his eye, my words low and dangerous. I have never really felt like this before, because I have never had a reason too. This man knows something about where Clarke is, and I'll be damned if I don't figure out where that place is. "Where is the girl who was wearing this watch?"

 No response.

I scoffed, "I'm sorry, do you want a physical description? Let's see, um..." I backed up a step, "blonde, pale, about-" I held my hand up to my chin, "yea high."

"Okay, this is excruciating." Murphy groaned dramatically, throwing his head back, "he is obviously lying, maybe you should stop asking so nicely-"

"Shut up, Murphy." Bellamy and I said at the exact same time. It was the other boy who decided to speak next, and his voice was naturally more scary than mine.  "We know you took our friends, we know. Just tell us where they are."

Finn seemed to have other ideas, as before I could react, he mumbled something under his breath and brushed past me, taking the handgun from his belt and smashing it into the Grounder's forehead. I jumped, my heart flying to my throat in shock as Finn yelled. "Answer the damn question!"

"Holy-" I cursed loudly as Bellamy and I rushed forward, each of us grabbing one of Finn's arms and hoisting him back. Finn's face turned an unnatural shade of red as he struggled in our grip, "where is the girl who was wearing the watch?"

"Finn, stop!" Bellamy rose his voice to be heard over the commotion. Finn's arm flew up as soon as I loosened my grip, and I jerked backward to avoid being smacked, accidentally falling against Monroe, who squealed and shoved my back away.

 "Sorry."

"You don't want to do this," Bellamy warned, as my face burned red and I crossed my arms awkwardly. "There are some lines you can't uncross."

I turned back to Monroe, "again, sorry."

Finn took a deep breath, his chest rising. Bellamy waited a moment, and I watched carefully until Finn's face turned back to a normal color. Bellamy flashed me a look, and I nodded, portraying that I thought it would be okay to let him go.
