My heart felt like it was going to explode when twelve o'clock came around. I had started heading towards Glenn and Maggie's cell when I was sure that Rick was distracted. Maggie must have been in on it too because she was the one distracting Rick.

I pushed away the blankets that blocked the view from the inside of the cell to go inside then watched as they fell back into place. When I turned around, Glenn and Carl were standing before me.

"Alright. You guys have ten minutes tops. Hurry," he said giving a serious glare before walking out onto the ledge. I looked to Carl and he looked to me. I decided that I couldn't be patient anymore. I had to know what he was going to tell me the other day. And I decided that I should ask Glenn later what was going on with the team.

"What were you going to tell me the other day?" He blushed and looked away.

"Carl, please?" I practically begged. His blush deepened.

"Fine. But don't laugh okay?" I nodded and waited for him to continue.

"I like you, Lucy. There. I said it. I like you a lot. And no one is going to keep me from you." He said. I felt like I had been lifted from where I stood. I felt as if everything had finally gone my way. I needed Carl and if Rick was to keep me from him then I couldn't go on.

"What are you gonna do about your dad?" I asked hurriedly, remembering we only had ten minutes. He started shaking his head violently and then looked me in the eyes.

"I'm gonna tell him. I--" I started to interrupt him but he covered my mouth with his hand.

"Don't, Lucy. If he kicks you out, I'm going with you. I don't care what he thinks. It's what I think. And I like you so he's just gonna have to get over it." I didn't reply. I just hugged him tightly, taking in his scent. I pulled back with my arms still around him and looked at his lips, then back up at eyes.

"Carl. So are we--?" He nodded and then, I felt as if all the puzzle pieces were together. That was it for me. That was all it took for the next thing to happen. I leaned in and I kissed Carl. I kissed Carl Grimes. He was my first.

When we pulled back, he looked me in the eyes and I saw everything he felt. Wonder, love, amazement. . . I wonder what he saw in my eyes.

Our moment was stopped when Glenn looked in and said that our time was up. It sucked. It felt as if everything had just fallen into place and now it was ending and it felt like everything was being ripped apart. Back to the boring reality that is the apocalypse. And back to the long days without Carl.

I walked out of Glenn and Maggie's cell thanking Glenn and walking to the spot that the clovers had been located only when I got there, there were no more clovers. Only the one Carl had picked and given me. This must be my good luck charm. And it looked like this was the only one I was gonna get.
