When I came to I found myself laying in a bunk bed in an RV. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I sat up, careful not to hit my head on the top bunk, and set my feet down on the floor. Looking through the window, there was a dark overcast outside, meaning it was going to rain soon.
Looking around the RV, I noticed I was the only one inside and spotted a small tray of food and a glass of water sitting on the nightstand by the bed. Taking the glass in my hand, I brought the rim up to my lips and took small sips of water. I must have been pretty parched because I downed the water in about five seconds.
Moving on to the food, I took slow, small bites that I figured Ignis made for me not too long ago. I picked up the slice of whole grain toast and munched on the crunchy treat when I heard the door open, followed by heavy footsteps. Looking towards the door, I saw the man himself, Ignis, walking into the RV wet from the rain. He looked in my direction and his eyes widened ever so slightly. I waved my toast as I gave him a thankful smile.
"Mornin'," I greeted with a mouth full of bread. Iggy's expression visibly relaxed as he breathed a sigh of relief before smiling himself.
"It's half past noon, actually," he corrected, making his way over and leaning against the counter of the sink. Crossing his arms, he looks at me up and down. "How are you feeling?" he asks.
"Much better, actually," I said taking another bite of toast. "I feels like I slept for a lifetime."
"In reality, you only slept for less than a day," Iggy says. I shot my head up at him in disbelief.
"What?!" I mumbled, some crumbs falling off my cheeks.
"Try not to talk with your mouth full, please," Iggy reminded me. I quickly wiped away the remaining crumbs with my arm and set the piece of toast back on the plate. I looked up at Iggy, waiting for him to continue.
"When you passed out back at the Disc of Cauthess, Titan suddenly disappeared and the crater began erupting in violent tremors. If not for our friend Ardyn, none of us would be here."
"Ardyn saved us?" I ask doubtful, scowling at the thought of the maroon haired stranger. "What else did I miss?"
"Apparently, he's also the Imperial Chancellor of Niflheim, Ardyn Izunia," Iggy added.
"WHAT?!" I exclaimed loudly, jumping up from the bed. Iggy stared at me, surprised at my outburst, before clearing his throat.
"Anyways," he continued, "after he flew us to safety, news had gotten out about Titan's fit of anger and took swift action to deal with it. Ravus is dealing with the issues at hand."
"Ravus..." I glanced down at the ground. "The Prince..." Hearing the sound of rolling thunder in the distance, I turned back to Iggy. "So, what's the plan now?"
"That is something we were discussing before I came to check on you," he says standing upright.
Suddenly, the door opened, and in popped Prompto with his signature smile. "Raya! You're okay!" he cheers, bounding over to me like a puppy. Gladio and Noct both come in after him, both relieved as well as they stand by the door.
"Yeah, sure feels like it," I said as Prompto locks his arm over my shoulders playfully, the two of us chuckling with smiling faces.
"Glad to see you up and movin', kiddo," Gladio says with a smile.
"Yeah, thought you were a goner there for a sec," Noct grins at me. I return the gesture with a shy smile, looking down at my hands folded neatly in front of me.
"Yeah....sorry about that guys. For making you worry," I say softly.
"Hey, as long as you're okay it's all good," Gladio says with a smile, making me smile back at him.
