So, today is the 9th of August 2020 at 12am and I'm sat on my sofa in my pyjamas. This has become pretty regular for me. I've been up sine 7am and I'm tired....
So many people have totally lost any sleep schedule. I haven't. I'm still getting up at 7 and going to bed at 10/10:30. the only difference is now that I sit on my laptop watching YouTube for hours before actually doing something productive with my life. Hence this chapter.
In all truth I've not struggled all that much during this period. I've actually felt a lot of peace. I'm quite introverted so, yes, I've missed my friends but it's not detrimentally impacting me. As the restrictions in the UK have lowered I have gone to see them - still distancing. But we've chatted a lot so I haven't missed them too much. In fact, on Friday I went to my friend's house for a BBQ and we just sat outside and chatted about memories and laughed. These were the sort of things that we took for granted but actually it just made me so happy!
Just like everyone else I have been getting up to a load of different stuff throughout this time. I have still been studying though so I don't have all that much time. I've been doing some more baking and honestly it's a bit of an issue.... We always have a cake or buns or flapjack (which I make with coconut and it's amazing) or brownies in. So..... (If you're interested, at the moment we have about half a batch of chocolate buns with dark chocolate ganache and half a tray of mars bar crispy squares).
I've also been writing (you may see that at some point...) and I've got really into The Skindex, which is a website for making Minecraft skins. You can find my profile on my about if you want?! I'm not incredible at it but it's something that I'm really enjoying improving at and just doing! I've also been walking a lot. My family already walked lots but we've been going out more at the moment. I've honestly discovered so many paths around my house that I never knew existed because of the ban on non-essential travel that we had during the full-on Quarantine period. So we couldn't do most of our normal walks and instead had to make do with the local area for our daily exercise.
At the start of Quarantine the thing I probably missed the most was Swimming. I'm no huge swimmer, unlike some people that take it really seriously. But we do normally go at least once a fortnight so after a while I started to really miss it and a bath just doesn't really cut it. We did try out swimming in a river (it was safe) but gosh that was really gross and we live too far from the seaside to swim in the sea on any regular basis (I'm also too big for my old wet-suit so we wouldn't be able to stay in for very long). However, we did take a trip down to the beach yesterday while also meeting a couple of my parents' friends and I finally got to have a bit of a better swim. Although, I always forget how difficult it is to swim in a wavy sea.
I'm trying to think of anything else I've been doing.... Honestly everything is blending together.
