I quickly pull my clothes on as Zach does the same. The alarm for an hour went off almost an hour ago. We get out into the living room and Zach kisses the side of my head before going out the window and getting out of there. I quickly sit down and put the headphones on as the door opens. Tilly comes in with a sigh and shuts the door.
I look back at her, "what took so long?"
"Some idiot ran a red light and caused a crash," she looks up at me, "why did you change your pajamas?"
I look down at my shirt, I find Zach's shirt instead of the one I was wearing earlier. I can still get this to work, I pick up the cup of coffee in front of me, "spilled my coffee."
She stares at me for a moment, "you are so clumsy."
She brings me my food and we listen to his conversation before taking the headphones off, "I think I prefer him flirting over that."
I turn on the T.V., "I feel bad for the person who has to listen to that to make sure what we put is right and edit out what we don't need."
Tilly laughs, "poor Sam."
We get silent for a moment before bursting into laughter. Tilly ends up pulling out some drinks after a while. I stick with water for the night, no need to regret anything in the morning. We both need a break and it is getting late, Tilly especially needed her cup of wine.
"Are you going to come back?"
I look at Tilly, "I can't leave The Shadows, they are my family."
"What about your family here? Don't you miss them?"
I take another sip and look out the window, "yes... but they think I am dead, it is too late."
"No, it isn't."
"It has been four years."
"Steve did it and was with us for six."
I hear my phone go off and look at the email. I frown when I see it is from my mom. Sending a hopeless message to see if I am alive. If she had paid attention it would have said that it was sent because I haven't really been on my email for four years. A false hope that she will never have fulfilled.
"See, you miss them."
I look at Tilly, "but I have another family. I have you, Zach, The Shadows..."
She lets out a sigh, "fine... I'm going to bed before I drink more than I need to."
I watch her get up and go into her room before I get on the group chat. I go through the messages and frown, "funny how someone is dead and you notice them more... isn't it?"
I never got much of my mom's attention and now she can't seem to stop thinking about me, the same thing with some of my friends. They are almost always saying something in the group chat that reminds them of me. Always something small, that no one cared to mention earlier. I don't think I would want to go back after all of this time. I really don't want to look at taking over my family's business. It was one of the main reasons I left, I needed to get away from here so I could find another reason to say no to taking over the business.
I turn off my phone with a sigh and get up, going to bed. Tomorrow is going to be an early morning. We will go into Mr. Stewerts home to get the file we need and then I can go home. We have been here for almost two months and I can't wait to go back home. This place wasn't my home after The Shadows took me in and I don't think it will ever be again.
After I plug in my phone I climb in bed. Just before I close my eyes my phone goes off and I find a message from Zach and I smile. I send him one before I close my eyes and go to sleep, excited for tomorrow to come.
When I get up I make breakfast and make sure to pack everything up. When Tilly comes out she eats and we go over everything before getting in the car and driving over to the house. When we get there I frown. Looks like we will have to change the plans a bit. Then again, if we didn't plan for this then we need to go back to training all over again. After all, you have to plan for the unexpected if you want to make it in this job.
"Plan B?"
I look at Tilly with a small smile, "plan B."
She smirks and gets out, walking over to the house. I wait until she makes her way back and gets in. I pull my mask up before pulling my hood over my head. It will be easier to get in with how dark it is but when I go to leave it will be a bit trickier than it already is. It will be lighter out and make it hard to blend in. I am sure I can find a way to make it work though.
I get out of the car, going to the side of the fence before climbing up it. I get up on the top and walk around to find the best place to get into the house. I will have to make sure it is closer to the office so I can get this done faster but that is the challenge. Mr. Stewart has been paranoid so it will be fun to get in the house.
I look around before going to a window that should belong to a room right across from his office. I pull back when I see someone moving and wait. If they don't leave then I have three choices. I can wait for them to leave, that might take too long. I could go find another room but there isn't much for rooms to go into at the moment, almost every way in has cameras or is locked from the inside. Or I could go in and risk being seen as I try to take them out, I don't have anyone to come to get me if I get into too much trouble so I will have to scratch that one out.
I get ready to move butthey go to the window and open it. The lady smiles before walking away. I smilewhen she leaves and I wait, don't want to go in only for her to come back. Sheforgot to close the window, something that Mr. Stewart will get after her aboutlater. However, I think I can help her out a bit with that little problem. After all, she helped me find a way in that will make this go by a bit fasterthan what I was looking at.
