Chapter 44

We get off the plane when it lands and we help take some of Addy's and Davina's things to their new house before going home to call it a night. When I get up in the morning I go out to take care of things. I sit in the hospital waiting room and when I can, I go back to see Jason.

"See not that bad."

I cross my arms and look at him, "sure... Nakoa took you to the pit to take care of the fatal injuries before bringing you here."

"The least I could do... looks like you two are now even on the amount of times to have died or almost died."

I look back at Nakoa, "I guess... how long is he staying here?"

Nakoa comes over to my side, "he can go home now... he was only involved in a small accident according to the papers that have been submitted."

I nod my head, "thanks Nakoa... see you when we come back here again."

Nakoa walks out, "try not to be dying."

I look back at Jason and hand him the bag I brought him before we leave. We get in my car and go back home for the rest of the night. We continue to run around to get things done, missions, work, getting a house, and everything that is going on with family. It isn't too bad at the moment but I was excited to finally meet my niece.

I sit in the chair, looking at her while we talk with Damen and Kelaya, "so... when are you two going to make it official?"

I look up at Kelaya, "what?"

Kelaya wraps her arms around Damen's, "I only see the promise ring. When is he going to ask?"

Jason moves a little, "we don't want to rush things-"

"We want to take our time," I finish.

Damen whispers something to Kelaya and she just smiles, "if that makes you two happy then I guess that works."

Jason gets up when his phone rings, walking out. I frown as I watch him go out. For the past week, he has been doing that. I don't know why, we haven't moved into the house yet, trying to get it finished before we do so it couldn't be something about the house. I would be getting the same call also. It could be something with his mom or sister but he would have told me by now.

"Don't worry... I am sure it is nothing bad."

I look at Kelaya, "it has been going on for a week now."

She gets up and takes Carter from me, "maybe it is a Valentine's surprise... or for a birthday."

I pull out my phone to see what the message is, "speaking of birthdays. Jason is going to love his present."

Damen takes Cater to the nursery so I can keep talking to Kelaya. It is really simple but I am sure he will like it. It is a five senses gift. For touch he gets a new shirt, sight he gets a mug that says good morning handsome, taste is his favorite candy... cinnamon hearts, smell is the cologne he gets all the time, and for sound, he gets a new alarm clock because it was broken in the last little fight we had with a league. Not to mention that he will get a sunflower. He said he loves them and I thought I would get him one, he always gets me flowers so I thought that it is time that I get him one.

We walk to the door and say goodbye before leaving. We eat our dinner before going to bed. More like I go to bed while Jason answers another call. When he doesn't come in after about thirty minutes I go out and find him sitting on the couch, rubbing his forehead.

"No... that will work. It just has to be perfect," he looks back at me and gives me a small smile, "yeah... I gotta go. Bye."

He walks over to me after putting his phone in his pocket and wraps his arms around me, "another call?"
