It seems like forever before I can keep my eyes open for more than a couple of seconds. I look around to find myself in my room at my apartment. With no one in here to stop me, I slowly get out of my bed. Despite having to use the wall and furniture to hold me up and the room spinning around me I still make it to my door. I open it and make my way down the hall. I can hear Tilly talking to someone.
"Where were you?"
"Taking care of some things," Jason responds after a moment.
"More or so burning all the files we had on him," Zach adds in.
"Why?"
"I'm leaving the League... I guess you can say it is a promise to Leyla."
"For what?" Zach asks before Tilly can.
"I... I can't take back what I did to her but I can start by showing her that I am on her side and won't do it again."
Tilly looks up and spots me when I stop to lean against the wall, "she made me promise to tell you something because she didn't think she would be able to tell you herself."
"What was that?"
She smiles and Zach looks back at me, a frown crossing his face as Tilly grabs him, "why don't you ask her yourself... I am sure she wouldn't mind telling you."
Jason turns around and looks at me, he comes over and puts his hands on my shoulders, his eyes scanning my face, "why are you always like this?"
I give him a small smile, "nothing can keep me down."
He gives me a small smile before pulling me close to him and kissing me. When he pulls back I hear someone mutter something and we turn and look at the door. Watching Zach pull Tilly back out the door. Jason quickly picks me up and starts walking to my room. Well that puts me back at where I was, I just wanted to get up and get something to eat. I am starving.
"I came out... for a reason."
"Too bad, you should be resting."
"But I'm not even tired."
"Sure, you were just using the wall because you can stand on your own with no help." He places me on my bed and looks in my eyes, our faces only inches apart when he sits down, "Leyla-"
"Thanks for coming back."
"I couldn't leave you alone... I just had to take care of some things before I came back."
"Cut it a little close there if I don't say so myself."
He smirks, "tried to get here sooner but after I took the files and burned them the League was looking for me... without Zach's help, I don't think I would have gotten here."
I look over to the window, "so... about what happened when you got here... did you mean it?"
It could have been my imagination but I think I will see if it was. If anything it was and it will just make everything awkward. You can't blame me for hoping that it is true in some way. Whether he really said anything or not is a different story that I can worry about later.
"Mean what?"
I look at him, "that you love me?"
He grabs my face in his hands and looks intently into my eyes, "if it wasn't obvious before then I hope it is this time."
He kisses me and my eyes close. When he pulls back it takes me a moment before I open my eyes, he smiles at me and moves his hands so his thumb is rubbing my bottom lip. A small smile spreads across his face as he thinks about something. I watch him to see if I can figure it out before I decide to ask him. I am sure I could figure it out but I don't want to, I am too tired.
