CHAPTER 22: CAT TALK AND FORGIVENESS

I laid on the library couch, looking at the ceiling.

Everyone had gone to their bedrooms; at least, that was what I thought.

After escaping the closing portal and all the laughter had died out, Lucifer noticed the visible bruises on my body and the ones at my neck that resembled the form of someone's hands.

Instant fear came over me as I saw his smile turn upside down into a deadly frown.

I was grabbed strongly as he inspected closely the bluish-purple remnants on my neck, tracing them cautiously with his fingers.

Satan, already feeling the tension building in the air, came up to him but before he had time to utter any explanation whatsoever, Lucifer let go of me and brusquely grabbed Satan by the neck and lift him off the floor.

A low growl escaped Lucifer's throat.

Satan tried to speak, but the force Lucifer applied to his hand blocked that possibility. Only cut out cry outs from pain escaped his greeted teeth.

Lucifer spoke loud enough for everyone to hear.

"IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR MASTER?! IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT SOMEONE WHO WE PLEDGED TO PROTECT WITH OUR LIVES?!"

Everyone's eyes stared straight at them.

All mute and non-dare to intervene, or even had an idea as to why was Lucifer being violent against their brother.

Before Lucifer went too far, I quickly placed my hands over the one holding Satan hovering.

Pulling down, I looked in between the two; voice strained and clearly showing how nervous I was because of the current situation.

"Lucifer! It's not what you think!"

Lucifer's darkened glare met mine, sending unpleasant shivers up my spine.

Mammon was about to come over but was soon stopped by Solomon.

"Let her speak through Mammon..."
