chapter 22

Forth's pov:

We went back to the packhouse the next day. 

Mom said she would contact the witch and tell me when we can meet her. 

Pha and i headed for our room. 

I was unpacking when i sensed that someone was trying to reach me through the packlink.

I let them in.

Khun Forth? It was a female's voice.

Yes? I responded.

I would like to talk to you. She said.

What is it? I asked.

I can't tell you like this. Can you meet me outside alone please? She asked me.

I started getting suspicious at this point.

It's really important. Please. She added when i didn't reply.

Ok. Give me ten minutes. I agreed.

Thank you.

I cut off the link.

"What is it?" Pha asked. He was staring at me.

"Someone asked if i could meet them in the backyard. She said she wants to talk to me. She also said it's really important." I told him.

"I'll go with you." He kept the clothes he was holding.

"No. She said she wants me to go alone. You continue unpacking. I'll go on my own." I said.

"But-"

"I'll be fine." I assured him.

"Ok. Come back soon." He sighed.

I kept the remaining clothes on the shelves and went to the backyard.

When i got there, the woman from before was standing there. The one who had hired rouges to kidnap a cub. Mira.

"What did you want to talk about?" I approached her.

She looked at me. Her eyes were bloodshot and she looks like she's been crying for a long time.

I frowned.

"Did something happen?" I asked.

"M-my husband he-" she stuttered.

I waited patiently for her to continue.

"He left." She looked down. 

"Left?" I was getting confused.

"He broke our link and erased my mark." 

"What?!" My eyes widened. 

Her eyes filled up with tears. 

"Why did he do that? And does dad know about this?" I asked.

She shook her head. "He made a deal with a witch. She cast a spell so alpha wouldn't know even if  he left the packlink." 

"Did you tell dad about this?" 

"No." 

"Why? He needs to know."

"B-because he took Mike with him and threatened to kill him if i told alpha anything about it."

What the hell... Kai mumbled.

"Then why are you telling me?" I asked.

"I feel like i can trust you. I know this sounds weird but i feel like you can save him. I can put my faith in you." She looked at me.
