Chapter 53 : A day to forget ?

The Emperor calls her , the Empress everyday. Not to bed her but to talk about national matters . Edna is happy that way . But the question is ... Is it called happiness or a glimpse of false happiness for their relationship ?

Their relationship is getting more distance as days were ongoing. Where Edna has her strongest trust that her husband will forever love her but he isn't willing to spend more time with her because of their duties. Other hand , Emperor Lee has his confusion. He is worried about falling in love deeply and dragging his innocent wife into his messy palace schemings . He isn't willing to pushed his wife towards any unwanted situation for now. He will locked his all undying love for her until situation fully in his grip.

Moreover, he is still a young emperor who needs to learn about how to rule over an empire perfectly. It's not easy to directly win over court discussions as an strong power holder . Furthermore, he had recently adjusted the whole court with his followers and people who deserves the position as minister.

Being an emperor doesn't mean that he could be lawless and do whatever he wishes. Every process of his reign cross through this imperial court ministry. He could issued an edict , but it might dissatisfied numerous court members if he never seek for their thoughts and suggestions . One dissatisfaction from court members could made a worst outcome within a Empire. It could lead to destruction of a dynasty too.

It might seems Emperor is fooling around with his so called protectiveness for his wife. But it is not . He claimed to protect Edna from this dangerous world , yet his wife already fallen for many schemes under his eyes !

For many times , Lee really thought something is not right with his mind. He is already a failer as husband. If he cannot summon up his courage and visit his own wife, then what's left behind to protect ? He clearly showed infront of everyone that he never visited his wife for once even after gifting her the precious golden palace.

Forget about consummating their marriage, Lee even made Edna like a precious bird inside of a golden cage !

He could watch her from afar but cannot touch it . Being an Emperor, still he has his needs and fear from his mother . Can he not summon up his courage for once and give Edna some face? As an Emperor, he had lot's of women in his harem house . He even flipped name plates of various ladies names during night . Only he could not visit his only wife - the Empress.

It is really a confusing matter . But steward Lu understood that either Emperor must be a huge coward or he was faking his love for Empress for his ego. It was clearly not a love but a obsession. Emperor was trying to love Empress but he doesn't have any clear meaning of love inside his heart . He just isn't willing to say that he don't like his wife , he only desired strongly and did as his mind directed. This young Emperor Lee was only being obsessive over the Empress, whom he never wished to lose !

Lu is only a steward, not adviser of Emperor's personal life . Sometimes he frowned when Emperor asked him certain things about Empress. He endured all of his bulging curses under his heart many times and perfectly pretend to advised Emperor some simple suggestions. Sometimes Lu wondered if he could scold this Emperor for being this stupid. But he had to leave those thoughts from his mind , for his own safety. An Emperor is the son of the heaven , above every human. Normal people couldn't questioned the almighty Emperor unless he was being unfaithful !
