It had been almost three weeks. Everyone within the property started to adjust to the new norm. Each day everyone woke up at an early hour and got to duties that needed to be done such as cooking securing the property, cooking, and so on.

Everyone was getting used to the new lifestyle but not necessarily about the fact that the dead were walking among them. It seemed that no matter what they did to sugarcoat the gruesome reality they were living in, nothing worked. It would be a long time before any of them started to accept that this was their world.

One day Mike was heading out in the streets alone. He didn't need to go look for resources or anything he just felt like getting some air. Just as he was leaving Zig caught him heading out and joined him. Before the apocalypse they were really good friends, they still were.

They were walking when Zig decided to break the silence. "How have you been handling everything so far man?" he asked Mike. It was probably better to talk about it than suffering alone.

"I mean I'm okay I guess. I've sorta prepared for this," Mike adds.

"How?"

"Video games obviously," Mike answers with a cheeky grin.

They laughed a bit at Mike's comment and continued walking. Mike seemed surprising. Good times don't always last because soon enough they ran into a zombie. It was headed straight for them and this was a hungry one.

They turned around. Today wasn't a day which either of them felt like fighting. What Mike and Zig didn't realize until it was too late was that the zombie was closed behind them than they would have thought. They only realized this when Mike felt a quick sharp pain in his upper arm.

"DAMNIT!!!! AAAHHH!!!," exclaimed Mike.

Finally,Zig took everything in his power and kicked the zombie down and using the heel of his shoe smashed the zombies head until it was finally dead. After the risk had been eliminated Zig turned to Mike with worry.

"We have a problem," said Mike slowly.

"Yeah no shit. What are you gonna do?! What are we gonna do? You got bit man!" Zig replied with a panicked tone.

"Relax man I'll think about it," Mike replied. He was more calm than he should be. Way to calm.

Back at the house Miles and Eric were trying to get any form of communication with anyone else. The radio was filled with nothing but static and one or two warning messages. They were beginning to loose hope of finding anything at all when all of a sudden they received a transmission quite different from all the rest.

"If you copy the- do not let- get – package Halder- if-ha- him."

"What the hell was that." asked Miles.

"I have no damn clue," Eric replied. There was something very cold and serious about this message. It carried a different weight compared to the rest of the messages on the radio.

Outside the gate Mike and Zig were coming in. Mike had managed to hid the wound quite well and suprisling it didn't hurt anymore. Both of them were know bonded by a dreadful secret. Zig was sure that soon Mike was going to die. Mike somehow was unsure what his next move was going to be.

Right now though all he wanted to do was take a nap and forget about the bite on his damn arm.
