Fear.
I only felt fear.
That soul deep clinging, devastating and crushing fear that made you suffocate of your own air, because suddenly oxygen didn't seem enough for me to survive.
I only needed her.
I barely registered the exterior of the building before running down the hallways, Carla resting silent and unmoving on the hospital bed as we moved her towards the emergency rooms.
Once we were at the doors of the room, a few nurses and staff members stopped us from entering the room, her hand which I was holding as firmly as possible slipping away from me in seconds.
The door closed behind her and I leaned my forehead against it, praying, praying and praying some more.
I jump a little when I feel Lu's hand on my shoulder, and then her lips so close to my ear as she hugged me from behind, "She's going to be fine. I know it."
I close my eyes.
