A long time ago, a kingdom named Algoria had reigned over the lands. They were a unique, different society. They had accepted EVERY ONE of the people who had wished to live in their state. That was their Biggest Pro, though also their Con.
Bloodmixes were accepted into that kingdom as well, and many people were not pleased with Bloodmixes living by their side. A group of assassins and Masterminds had been formed, known as the Serpents.

The Serpents had come into Algoria, which wasn’t a very tough mission, as they had accepted everyone.  They burnt the whole kingdom to the ground, and massacred all of the Bloodmixes that lived in it.

Bloodmixes are people who are semi-animals. Some had wings, tails, sharp teeth, Gills and such.
Some of the non-Bloodmixes feared them. They were way more powerful, and very dangerous.
That is why the serpents had murdered half of their race.
The remnants of Algoria became a wasteland, and the rest of the Bloodmixes retreated to their own villages.
Though the Serpents were not yet satisfied. They wanted a wipeout.

And they could not do that themselves.
They needed something to use as their weapon.
Something that could easily destroy the Bloodmix villages.
The box.
Pandora’s box.

And the Serpent’s leader, The Anaconda, would do anything to lay her thin hands on that artifact.

She had already sent one of her men to get it. One of his finest warriors. Though he was not truly hers.
Getting the box is pretty much a suicide mission. That is why they sent that specific warrior, which was a traitor. A stain in the legacy of the serpents. The Anaconda had hoped he would die delivering the box, which would be perfect for her plan.

In the Ashforest, The man was trying to come up with a plan to retrieve the box.
The Bloodmixes would not know what the box was, and he feared they would rid of it. Or worse…
He did not truly wish for the Bloodmixes to perish. And the Anaconda had known that since he spared their lives multiple times.
He had suspected that she sent him to this mission hoping he would die, and he could not wait to prove her wrong.

His name was cloak. It was given to him by The Anaconda, which was his mother, but she had not treated him differently then the other Serpents.

While he was planning to steal Pandora back from the Bloodmixes, Two Bloodmixians were running away from the wasteland, carrying Cloak’s bag.
They were running back to their village. They assumed whatever was in that bag was important, because he hid in the Ashforest, which is an act only committed by those who have something to hide.

They were both in the age of 15.  Twins. Other people had joked that they really got screwed when they were born, since whilst other Bloodmixians had wings and Gills, they had gotten the features of a monkey. They were hairy, and they had tails. Those were not very useful things to a Bloodmixian. The ones who got wolves or bears were truly lucky, since those could defend themselves when the Serpents raided their villages.

They never feared the Serpents, though. The Serpents are the ones who are truly afraid. Their entire legacy and motive was purely based on fear of the Bloodmixians.

Both of them do not have names. No Bloodmixian does. They are referred to as the name of their animal, though because both of the twins were the same animal, they had gotten nicknames.
Heeshe and Shae.
Heeshe never liked his, though he thought his sister’s had a nice ring to it.

Heeshe was wearing a black shirt, and had a necklace that resembled the moon.
Shae had put Cloak’s bag in front of her torso, so she could guard it. Her monkey hairs were cut off, as in tradition for female Bloodmixians.

The twins had gotten closer to the village.
They were looking forward to give the box to their leader. If it really was important, they might finally prove that they are useful to the clan.

When they arrived, they went straight to the leader’s shack.
As they were about to get in, a guard saw them.

“What do you wish to bring to the chief?” asked the guard.
“I think we have gotten something of value.” Said Shae. “We stole this from a Serpent who was wandering in the Ashforests of the wasteland. It must mean that it is indeed an item of value.”

״׳Whatever it is, it does not concern our lord. Return to your households, please.”
Replied the guard.

“Well , it should concern him. “  Heeshe replied. “Please , let us talk to the lord.”

“No.” the guard replied strictly. “Our lord shall not be distracted by your nonsense, monkeys.”

“And our guard shall not have a say in what shall concern the lord.” Said a voice behind him. It was the lord himself.

“Excuse me, sir.” The guard replied and walked back a bit.

“Now, what should concern me, Shae?”  The lord replied.

Heeshe would have been insulted by how the lord had ignored him,
Though he knew better. Him and the lord were never in good terms. Shae, on the other hand, was one of his favorites.

“We had stolen a Serpent’s bag. Whatever is inside of it, it must be important to the Serpents, since he had chosen a route that goes through an Ashforest.” Said Shae.

The lord had swirled an orange hair strand with his finger. His animal was a Fox.
He had a long, fluffy tail, and most people said he could not be trusted.

“Did you kill the Serpent?” Lord Fox asked.

“No, sir.” Answered Shae.

“Well, that is one dumb plan. He knows were our village is, and if this bag is as important as you think it to be… He’ll come back for it, with some backups.”

The Fox was correct, though not entirely. Cloak was indeed on his way to the village, though he did not want to call for backup. This was his opportunity to prove himself to his clan, and he must come back victorious, and alone.

“Must have been your brother’s plan, was it?” Said Fox.
It was clear that he expected Heeshe to be the one to come up with such a plan, and he was correct. Though if there was one thing Shae despised about Lord Fox, it was his disrespect to her brother.

“It was mine, actually.” Shae lied.

The fox did not believe her lie. Lying is his thing, after all.
But he kept quiet. He did not want to argue with Shae in those matters.

“Well, this indeed must be quite an important artifact. Hand me the bag, I shall discuss this matter with the Council.” Said Lord fox and stepped back into his house. “Guards, be on the watch for serpents.”

After the lord was far enough, Heeshe spoke. “Thank you for lying about the plan.”

Shae was mad. “No, thank YOU for causing this mess, Heeshe. The lord must know I have lied, and that is because of you.”

Heeshe wanted to protect himself, though he knew she was right.
He walked away in silence.
