After Cloak was far enough, Heeshe and Shae rushed to check on the fox. He was still unconscious. The guards came and lifted their lord off the field, and delivered him to the village’s healers.

Meanwhile, The Anaconda was plotting her use of Pandora’s box.
She had planned that her son would die on the way back from the temple from which he had taken the box, and that she would send someone to find his body and take the box away.

And she knew exactly who would do that.

Python was at the forge, sharpening his Longsword. A Longsword he had meant to hand to his friend, Cloak. Though he was banished from the Serpents before
Python could finish forging it.
Cloak’s mother, The Anaconda herself, had banished him. Python always obeyed her, though he knew she wasn’t that great.
Cloak was quite annoyed with Python sometimes, because he felt as if Python was more of a son to her than Cloak was.

But He didn’t think so. The Anaconda loves no one.
Rumors say she had killed Cloak’s father herself.

The Anaconda entered the room and watched Python sharpen the Longsword.
Speaking of the devil, he thought.

“Hello, Python.” Said the Anaconda. She walked towards Python. She was unnaturally tall, and very thin. You could see her bones through her skin.
Her face was pretty much empty. You couldn’t see her emotions in her face, if she even had those…

“Hello, Ms. Anaconda.” He said and looked up to her face. He was much shorter than her.

“I have a mission for you. Cloak is taking a long time to return. Go to the Ashforest and find him. If he is dead, Take Pandora’s box and leave the body.
He shall become one with the ash in the wasteland.” Anaconda said blankly.

Python did not like that plan. “I am quite busy, Could you ask someone else?” he replied.

“It was not a question. You leave in ten minutes.” She said.

Python was not happy with that, though he had no choice.
“Will do, my lord.”

Anaconda walked out of the room.

At the Bloodmix village, the healers were taking care of Fox, though they seemed worried.

What’s wrong? Asked Shae.

“I am not sure whether he’ll live or not. The serpent had injected poison into him somehow. Those guys are surely great at making weapons.” Said the Healer. Shae knew him. He was a monkey as well. Him, Shae and Heeshe were the only Monkeys in the village, though. His nickname was Haeie.

“Have you checked what poison it is? We might have an antidote.” Asked Heeshe.

“No, I have never encountered this type of poison before. The Serpents had likely developed new poisons so that we cannot treat our people well.“ Haeie replied.

“I hope it is not deadly.”  Said Shae.
“If the Serpents made it, You bet it is.” Replied Hishe.

Shae was worried that Fox might die.
If  he were to die, a new lord would have to come, and she was worried that he wouldn’t be good enough. Shae herself is too young to compete for the role.

Heeshe didn’t know what to think.
He never liked Lord Fox, though he knew his sister did. Also, it meant a new lord must rise, and the village was not ready for that.
But that wasn’t the only thing that bothered him.
The village was now in possession of a powerful weapon. It could destroy the
Serpents forever, though they did not know how to use it.
And the Serpents are now even more afraid of them, and they will definitely want to steal the Box.

Suddenly, Fox started shaking.

“Hold him down!” Haeie shouted.
Shay and Heeshe did their best to keep him stable, while Haeie injected something into him.

“Let’s hope this does it.” He said.

Fox stopped shaking. He opened his eyes.

“Fox!” Shae was relieved.

“How do you feel?” asked Haeie.

Fox did not move, nor did he answer. His eyes were red.
The three Bloodmixians looked at their lord in silence.

Fox’s eyes started bleeding.
“What’s happening?” Heeshe asked.
“The treatment failed.” Haeie said. He was very worried.
Shae put her hand on the lord’s heart.

“He’s gone.” She whispered.

No one spoke. They all stared at their dead lord.

“I’m sorry.” Said Haeie.  “I couldn’t save him.”

By the next day, the news had spread across the village. The lord was dead, and someone must replace him.
Three Bloodmixians had chosen to race to the title of lord.
Wolfe, Phoenix, and Ratte.

The Bloodmixians did not believe in democracy.
The way to choose their leaders was to test their battle skills and wisdom. The 3 opponents had to run around the village. If they encounter each other, they fight.
The last one standing will be the winner.

Each Candidate shall choose 3 Bloodmixians to fight alongside them. Only one team stays alive.
