Personality in a Bouquet

If I were to confine you to flowers,
To pluck your persona out of green earth
I would begin with hollyhock
It's many colors bustling to be seen
growing up toward the sunlight with purpose

Next would come sage
those wise, waxy wilts standing below
Advising the vibrancy of hollyhock

Following would be the sweet woodruff
Respectful and meek
holding their white heads to the trust of sunlight

The purple petals of hyssop would climb in
cutting cleanly their violet stalks
each stem cleanly decorated in lavender and green

Wrapped about the hyssop would be arborvitae
Steadfast and unafraid to contrast green
against purple and pink and white
dedicated to letting those hues glow

I would finish with hyacinth
Petals curling playfully
twisting and turning as they please
Reaching out to fret the arrangement

As beautiful as it remains,
I hope to add zinnia
And after I'm gone you will remember
This bouquet that I made you
