Four Another Way

Fleeing Into The Unknown

Ming still remembers that day. The day her world would twisted and changed without a second thought. She was lost, but was calm. Her mind and thoughts raced, but was aware of everything. With nothing to do, she turned towards her family. Hoping they will have solution. 

When she went to them, they indeed had a solution. They were startled at first, but soon came round upon recognizing their beloved youngest. Though they can't reverse the damage, they can, at least, send her off some where so she can be safe. Far in countryside, a siheyuan farm will be waiting. They told her not to worry about them. With the information from Ming, they can be ready for what comes next. And from there, they send her off. 

Years went by as Ming adjust to her new body and lifestyle. She perfected her abilities and train herself in new fighting styles with book provided for her. And there, Ming stay. She remembers all of it. 

Ming stood tall as Hai-Lun and her henchmen looms over the lands. The wicked woman's face then melted from amusement to anger. Ming was suppose to die in that pool. Ending the rain of the Lian Family, but instead, instead she is gifted a new body with more possible abilities. The attack on the Lian Family failed since it was clear someone told them before hand. And now, she knows why.

"Well, I least I know your family was keen on our attack. Maybe it's about time I settle this." Hai-Lun said. 

In a quick motion, the men in black lunge forward towards Ming with weapons drawn. Ming disarmed the first one and threw the weapon, which was kunai, towards another henchmen as one more get hit with Ming's long and strong tail. As more came, Ming yelled out to Oasis, 

"Qizi, go into the house and pack as much needed things and plants seeds to flee. Take the young-lings as well." Ming shouted as she fights off three more henchmen.  

Oasis quickly grabbed the girls and ran inside the siheyuan and started packing five duffel bags with items and different small baggies of plant seeds, not aware of which is which. As Oasis blindly fills the bags with things, the girls also began packing small bags that sat on their shell. Talena packed science and math books, Larota packed play balls and small training gears, Amoly packed handmade stuffed animals and a jump rope, and Venus packed her spell book and more useful items. After some time, Ming came bursting into the room and grabbed three bags and two of the girls. 

"We need to leave now!" 

With that, Oasis grabs the two other girls and bags and ran out. Once they got side, Hai-Lun and her fleet was laying on the ground with some even bleeding a bit. They both of them began running into the wooded area in hopes of getting them of their tracks. They ran and ran until the morning skies became a darken canvas. 

As they stop for a minute, the two mothers collapse onto the ground as their legs and lungs burned from the constant movement. Oasis falls to her knees as her breath hitched while the two turtles was fast asleep within their mother's arms. Ming was still on her feet, willing to keep moving. They decided to camp for the night and eat whatever they could find. Fortunately, a plum and mango tree  was nearby so that didn't have to eat anything unpleasant. After everyone ate, the girls fell back to sleep while the mothers stayed awake. 

It was during this moment of silents that Oasis realize her greatest decision. A decision she has been thinking of ever since Ming took her and young girls in. She'll give up her own life to save her girls, and now, the woman she loves. She knew this day will come and she was aware that she'll be unable to care for the girls if they leave China. The reason why is the reason she there to begin with. And a secret that was hidden for so long. 

"Ming, there something I think we should do." Oasis said as her eyes gaze deep within blazing fire before her. 

Ming looked confuse as her beloved other stares blankly into the fire. "What do you mean, Qizi?" 

Silence filled the air for some time before Oasis spoke her mind with heartbreak and guilt filling her body. 

"I want you to care of the girls,.....while I stay behind." 

Ming's face filled with disbelief as Oasis gaze was still fixed on the fire lightening the small area. 

"Oasis, I will leave you here. The girls need you with them, and so do I." Ming said loud enough to not wake the kids.  

"I am aware of that," Oasis stated "but you can care for more and trained to fight and defend. As for me, I don't have much time left." 

Ming's face began to reform as the last parts of Oasis' wording struck her with confusion.

"What do you mean 'you don't have much time left' ?" Ming ask as her face and feeling grew more concern. 

Oasis takes in a strong and deep breath as she ready herself to reveal her deep and darkest secret. 

"Ming, I'm dying." 

Ming felt her stomach drop as the final words escape from the turtle's mouth. Dying. She was dying. Thoughts and feelings began circling within Ming's mind as she process the words given to her. 

"Dying? What do you mean you're dying?!" Ming nearly yelled as she fights back the urge of tears. With another deep breath taken, she spoke. 

"Long ago, months after Larota hatched, I was given a serum that will kill me ten years later. The man who mutated me, and killed my mate, said that I should spend as much time with my children as much as possible before I die. My endgame will be in a few days." 

Oasis paused for a moment as tears began to stream down her face. Ming was crying as well.

"I don't want my girls to suffer through my death alone, so when I met you, I knew you'll not only care for them, but raise them to be perfect girls. If and when those people come again, I'll defend they off while you take the girls somewhere safe." Oasis cried as she held Ming's hand as tears flooded both their eyes. 

"I love you, Ming." 

With those final words, Ming and Oasis brace and gave final kiss of life as the sound of yelling and rustling grows near. Quickly, Ming wrapped a long silk khata around her and place the two turtle-lings in them. Grabbing the last two bags and with final look of goodbye, Ming left into the darkness as Oasis held back with as the enemies vastly approach. 

Ming ran quickly as tears began pouring from her eyes as carries the remain things from home. Without stopping for minute, the sounds of air plane engines filled the air as the ground rattled with movement of the plane's take off. In a split second decision, Ming hopped the fence of the air port and quickly sneaks with the open luggage area of the plane. 

After some time, the back of plane closes with total darkness engulfing them with little light provided by the moonlight peering in through the small window. Ming set the girls down as they was still, somehow, fast asleep. Her fur was damped with tears as she relive the last moment with her first love as the plane takes off. No other option to her, she'll just wait  and see what the future, and plane, takes her and her girls.

Well, I actually made myself cry while writing this and that was intentional. Sorry, I just got lost in the moment and just finish watching a movie that will make you cry no matter what. Sorry.
